Technical Program Manager

As Marqeta’s Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading technical workstreams or initiatives, coordinating work across engineering teams to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario. We’d love for you to join us!

The Impact You'll Have

  • Drive technical projects from concept to completion, managing scope, schedule, and resources
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and issues; develop mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, product, design, and business teams
  • Lead technical planning, estimation, and prioritization sessions
  • Document technical decisions and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership and remove obstacles for engineering teams
  • Balance technical tradeoffs with business requirements and timelines

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of technical program/project management experience
  • Strong understanding of relevant technologies, software development methodologies and processes (S-SDLC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and development practices
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice-To-Haves

  • PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certification
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, etc.)
  • Data analysis and visualization skills
  • Experience in electronic payments and accounting systems

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position, reflected in CAD,  is: 85,400 - 106,800
