
Senior Salesforce Developer
As Marqeta’s Senior Salesforce Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable solutions across the Salesforce platform. You will build robust, user-friendly applications using Lightning Web Components, Apex, Experience Cloud, and core Salesforce platform capabilities. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into well-architected solutions while improving platform performance, maintainability, and overall user experience across the organization.
The Salesforce team within Business Systems owns and operates the Salesforce platform end-to-end. We partner closely with Go-to-Market, Service, and Legal/Risk/Compliance teams to design, build, and scale the systems that support their daily operations. Our focus is on delivering secure, reliable, and well-architected solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, integrations, and platform automations. We are a collaborative, execution-driven team committed to improving user experience, strengthening data integrity, and continuously expanding Salesforce capabilities to meet the needs of a growing organization.

The Impact You’ll Have
- Design, build, and maintain scalable solutions across the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and SOQL.
- Develop both declarative and programmatic solutions to meet evolving business requirements.
- Lead solution architecture for new features including data model, UX, and integration approach.
- Develop modular, reusable Lightning Web Components to improve usability and UI consistency.
- Build and enhance Experience Cloud sites, portals, and self-service user experiences.
- Customize Service Cloud capabilities such as Case Management, Email-to-Case, Entitlements, Chat, Omni-Channel, and Service Console as needed.
- Configure and optimize the Salesforce data and security model, including permission sets, profiles, and sharing rules.
- Develop and maintain integrations with internal systems using REST/SOAP APIs and platform events.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and drive optimization initiatives.
- Enhance Sales Cloud and Service Cloud workflows and configurations when required by business teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable platform solutions.
- Provide documentation, design specifications, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Ensure all configuration changes, custom development, and deployments follow SOX change control requirements.
- Conduct regular assessments and testing of platform configurations and integrations to meet SOX and ITGC standards.
- Monitor system performance and user adoption to proactively identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Hands-on experience implementing AI solutions that deliver measurable value to customers
- Understands the need for APIs, prompt design, and the logic required to determine when and how AI should be invoked
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- 6+ years of Salesforce development experience.
- Advanced proficiency in LWC, Apex, Flows, SOQL.
- Experience implementing Experience Cloud portals and custom LWC components.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce Data & Security Model.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven patterns.
- Proven ability to design and deliver complex solutions with measurable business impact
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required, and Platform Developer II strongly preferred.
- Experience with DevOps/CI/CD tools such as Flosum, Copado, Gearset
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice-To-Haves
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ or other quoting/billing systems.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Shield, field audit trails, and platform encryption.
- Hands-on experience with Einstein, AI-driven workflows, or generative-AI integrations.
- Experience with Integration Platforms (Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:
- National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
- Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
- Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:
- National: $106,200 - $132,800
- Premium: $115,000 - $143,700
- Premium Plus: $125,000 - $156,200
