Orchard Operations Administrator (part-time)
Do you want to be part of company that values your skills and expertise?
As New Zealand’s largest integrated apple grower, Mr Apple continues to grow the best people alongside the best apples. Our orchards are supported by strong systems, practical coordination, and people who keep the detail moving behind the scenes.
We’re looking for an organised and proactive Orchard Operations Administrator to provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to our Head of Orchards and Technical Orchard Team. By supporting the consistent application of systems and administrative best practice across orchard teams, you will free technical leaders to focus on growing high‑quality fruit safely, efficiently, and in line with best practice.
What you’ll be doing:
As the Orchard Operations Administrator, you’ll play a key role in supporting smooth orchard operations across the business. Working closely with the Head of Orchards and Technical Operations Manager, you will help coordinate documentation, systems, reporting, purchase processes, payroll readiness, and communication.
You’ll be a central point of coordination for orchard administration and will help ensure consistent systems and processes are used and optimised across orchard teams.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Providing administrative support to the Head of Orchards and Technical Orchard Team
- Supporting orchard and technical documentation to company standards
- Helping prepare for internal orchard audits and technical reviews by collating records and evidence
- Acting as a central contact for orchard-related administrative queries and correspondence
- Coordinating purchase orders, coding, receipting, and stock processes
- Supporting orchard and technical leaders with system reporting, summaries, and data integrity
- Using digital tools and AI-enabled platforms to improve reporting, accuracy, and efficiency
- Supporting orchard-wide initiatives, meetings, communications, seasonal activities, and end-of-season processes
- Providing flexible administrative support during peak seasonal periods
- Supporting other orchard administrators with systems, processes, and documentation where required
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in administration, coordination, or business support
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail, especially in documentation, compliance, and system inputs
- Confidence using digital tools and technology
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify better ways of working
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand and the ability to pass pre-employment checks
What we offer:
- A part-time permanent role with variety, purpose, and connection across the orchard business
- The chance to support one of Hawke’s Bay’s largest employers and New Zealand’s largest apple grower
- A supportive team environment where you will learn from experts in the industry
- An opportunity to bring new initiatives that will make a real difference
- Exposure to orchard operations, technical teams, systems, reporting, and continuous improvement
If you enjoy keeping things organised, working with people, improving processes, and supporting busy operational teams, we would love to hear from you.
