Foreman - Kanuka Orchard

We're on the lookout for an Orchard Foreman to lead at Kanuka Orchard, located in the heart of Central Hawke’s Bay. If you're an experienced horticulturist ready to lead with purpose and ambition, this is your chance to take the next step.

 

What you’ll be doing: 

As our Orchard Foreman, you’ll lead the way in producing premium apples while managing and motivating a high-performing team. You’ll be hands-on in daily operations, working closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative and growth-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Maximise the efficiency of daily orchard operations.
• Implement effective company policies as directed by the Orchard Manager, particularly regarding orchard husbandry techniques.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Manage and motivate orchard staff effectively, in alignment with company human resource policies and procedures.
• Maintain, demonstrate, and promote safe workplace standards by adhering to the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Perform general orchard work as required.

 

What you’ll bring: 

• Proven experience in large-scale horticulture and orchard operations
• Confident leadership and supervisory abilities
• Strong knowledge of orchard technologies and systems
• Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
• Familiarity with machine operation and maintenance
• Expertise in tree husbandry and people management
• Knowledge of pest control, disease management, and chemical use
• Basic skills in accounting, business, and financial operations
• A full, current driver’s licence
• Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand and ability to pass pre-employment checks
