Role Overview
The Communications Assistant provides administrative support to the Communications Department to help the team achieve strategic goals and improve efficiencies.
Department Accountabilities
External Communications
Develop and distribute external communications products across multiple channels to bear witness to humanitarian needs, speak out with patients and communities, engage with audiences, and achieve strategic objectives.
Public Engagement & Advocacy
Identify significant medical humanitarian issues and execute integrated communications plans to increase public awareness, audience engagement, and support for advocacy priorities.
Brand Positioning
Develop and contribute toward brand strategy, brand positioning, and tactics to increase brand visibility.
Content Creation
Develop and support the production of creative and engaging external communications content across audiences and channels, including for the website, social media, and live events.
Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Promote DEI principles across all communications products and channels.
Role Specific Outcomes
Administration
Provide best practice support on a wide range of MSF documents, databases, and other systems to support the work of colleagues and the department as a whole. Manage department financial invoicing, record keeping, and reporting.
Business Meetings/Events Arrangement
Schedule appointments, make arrangements for meetings and conferences, and organize travel plans following instructions to ensure more senior colleagues or a senior executive make best use of their time.
Budgeting
Monitor and analyze data using budgeting systems and protocols.
Public Engagement Execution
Carry out public engagement tasks as assigned and provide support to others.
Content Creation
Collate information for use in developing content, and format materials for print or websites. Assist with research, writing, design, and transcription, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
- No managerial nor supervisory responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
At a minimum the Job Holder should possess:
- Minimum two years related work experience, preferably in a non-profit environment, plus Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Travel Requirements
May need to travel as required.
Compensation
$53,702.00 - $80,554.00; All new employees will be compensated from the minimum to the midpoint based on experience
