Role Overview
Under the direction of the Social Media Manager and as part of the Editorial Unit, the social media associate will create and publish dynamic content for social platforms and contribute to the overall communications strategy to inform, engage, and inspire US audiences. The associate will play an active role in increasing visibility and engagement, including through daily social media brand listening, monitoring news, and reporting on analytics.
Department Accountabilities
External Communications
Develop and distribute external communications products across multiple channels to bear witness to humanitarian needs, speak out with patients and communities, engage with audiences, and achieve strategic objectives.
Public Engagement & Advocacy
Identify significant medical humanitarian issues and execute integrated communications plans to increase public awareness, audience engagement, and support for advocacy priorities.
Brand Positioning
Develop and contribute toward brand strategy, brand positioning, and tactics to increase brand visibility.
Content Creation
Develop and support the production of creative and engaging external communications content across audiences and channels, including for the website, social media, and live events.
Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Promote DEI principles across all communications products and channels.
Role Specific Outcomes
Digital Engagement Plan Execution
Support implementation of organic social media plans, develop related initiatives and content and monitor the performance of digital engagement campaigns.
Content Creation
Draft organic social media copy and support the development of creative content in accordance with organizational style guidelines designed to engage diverse digital audiences.
Data Collection & Analysis
Collect and analyze data using social listening tools, reports, and dashboards. Involves working independently and in collaboration with other stakeholders.
Brand Positioning
Ensure the application of brand guidelines and brand templates.

Desired Qualifications & Experience
- At a minimum, the Job Holder should possess:
- 3 years relevant professional experience, journalism or non-profit experience preferred.
- Ability to write clear, compelling, and accurate content across a range of platforms, with an interest in digital storytelling.
- Good understanding of the social media landscape with experience on platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, X, Threads, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Experience using social media listening, analytic, and scheduling tools, such as Sprout Social, Talkwalker, Google Analytics.
- Basic working knowledge in using Adobe for social media graphics, in-app platform video editing, or similar tools.
Travel Requirements
Must be willing to travel for work as needed.
Compensation
$67,350 to $101,025; All new employees will be compensated from the minimum to the midpoint based on experience
