What you'll do:

  • Support IT solutions for various business lines globally including FX, Money Market, STIR and Options
  • Offer technical expertise and support for the systems used
  • Manage and resolving incidents and outages
  • Manage requests for changes, system releases and capacity planning
  • Disaster recovery, planning and execution

What you’ll learn at the mthree Academy:

  • How to discuss production support activity at a high level including ITIL (information technology infrastructure library), monitoring, DevOps, SRE (site reliability engineering), and disaster recovery.
  • How to discuss common financial topics, including financial markets, equity trading, derivatives, currency, treasury, regulation, and risk.
  • How to write a basic computer program in Python, including user input, common data structures, and flow of control.
  • How to use MySQL to perform CRUD (create, read, update and delete) operations on a relational database stored in a MySQL Server.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, math).
  • A GPA of 2.75 or higher. We look for potential, not prestige, but it’s important that you enjoy pushing yourself to pick up new ideas.
  • Solid experience in IT to include minimum 2 years of experience in the financial industry
  • Previous experience of working in a front office trading IT environment
  • Previous experience in a front office support role engaging directly with Sales and Trading desks
  • Good product understanding of FX Spot and Forwards, NDF’s, FX options and simple MM products
  • Experience in Solaris Unix / Linux / Windows environments, basic scripting, Sybase SQL
  • Exposure to e-commerce trading systems – understanding and troubleshooting of pricing issues, integration of clients, ECN connectivity logic and flow
  • The right to work in Canada without needing visa sponsorship.
  • French proficiency required for roles in Quebec province.
