Reports To: Director of Utilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director of Wet Utilities to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Wet Utility division. This role is critical to ensuring high productivity, quality workmanship, and efficient execution of utility projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong operational expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of Wet Utility crews and projects, including water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Supervise field teams, foremen, and subcontractors, providing guidance and support to maximize performance.
  • Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency and output.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, safety compliance, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to coordinate schedules and resources.
  • Assist in planning and forecasting labor, equipment, and material needs.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support the Director of Utilities in strategic planning and division growth initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Field Ops Management Experience (5+ Years)
  • Project Execution & Production OVersight Experience
  • Technical Knowledge of Wet Utility Systems
  • Proven leadership experience in managing field ops and crews
  • Strong understanding of water, sewer, and stormwater systems and construction practices
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools and reporting systems
