People Operations Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

Summer internships will range between the months of May and September depending on university schedules. Internship is full-time and on-site in Mountain View, CA. 

We’re seeking a self-starting, detail-oriented People Operations Intern. You’ll step into a position where you will learn People Operations fundamentals firsthand and support our day-to-day functions. This position reports to the People Operations Specialist. Interns can look forward to owning a project from start to finish, which could involve building out new people processes, optimizing our onboarding experience, or helping drive key employee feedback initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for broader People Ops initiatives, including team culture efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating a seamless onboarding process for new hires, including managing welcome communications and schedule coordination.
  • Help create, update, and maintain internal wikis, FAQs, and self-serve resources so employees can easily find answers on their own.
  • Build, schedule, and compile feedback surveys (e.g., in Lattice) to help measure and improve the early employee experience.

Qualifications 

  • Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across administrative tasks and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an empathetic, warm, and professional approach.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with sound judgment.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using Google Workspace, Slack, or HR management software; quick to adapt to new tools and workflows.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Previous internship or co-op experience, or active leadership involvement in campus organizations.
  • Previous experience or strong interest in high-growth technology or aerospace startups.
  • A track record of taking initiative on projects, driven by your own curiosity.
  • Naturally curious about AI tools and emerging technologies to work faster and more accurately.
  • A genuine passion for supporting team members and expanding your People Operations skillset.

Pay range

Bachelor's students $40/hour

Master's $45/hour

PhD $50/hour
