EHR Integration Specialist

Remote - US

At Murj, we do what we love and love what we do!

Murj was founded in 2014 to solve a problem witnessed first-hand. Founder and CEO, Todd, worked with cardiology practices as an implantable cardiac device sales representative for Medtronic. He watched clinicians struggle to manage these sophisticated devices using outdated and inadequate tools. Having previously worked in product management at Apple, Todd knew that brilliant design can profoundly impact the user experience -- so why not design a better way to care for patients with implantable devices?

In Murj, Todd created an enterprise SaaS cardiac device management software solutions company that reimagines and transforms patient care through thoughtful design and a passion for quality and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Today, Murj continues this transformative innovation with intuitive, elegant, and imaginative technology solutions that improve the lives of cardiac care professionals and their patients.

What Murj offers.

Murj is for people seeking a fast-paced, ever-changing environment surrounded by a supportive team that works hard and strives for innovation and professionalism, with a steady diet of humility and camaraderie.

And in joining Murj, you are joining a community that believes in evolution and promotion from within; there is a high degree of opportunity for progression, creativity, and ownership.

From your first day at Murj, you are eligible for full medical, dental, and vision insurance along with an open vacation policy, more than 10 annual company holidays, and competitive compensation and equity participation, and a 401(k) after 3 months of service.

How We Work at Murj

Murj is the right place for people who excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Murj embodies a high-performance culture  where every team member is expected to exceed expectations and take ownership beyond their role to drive our collective success.

Employees should be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to identify and address needs. This proactive approach is essential to thriving at Murj.

We believe in working hard together, with a shared sense of purpose and drive. We’re not afraid to ask tough questions, and we support each other in reaching for bold new ideas.

Let us leave you with this.

If this role sounds intriguing - we encourage you to apply. And we encourage applicants to embrace new challenges, as the right fit at Murj is often more about the person and the challenges they seek, not just what they have accomplished in the past.

About The Role.

The EHR Integration Specialist plays an integral role during implementation of a Murj EHR integration. This role will manage EHR integration projects both pre- and post-sale. The responsibilities include project scope documentation, scheduling and leading project meetings, coordination of technical resources, interface build and mapping, project tracking and communication with all key stakeholders.

This position works closely with the software development and product teams to deploy a scalable, high-integrity EHR integration solution that accelerates the growth of Murj.

This role requires you to be proactive, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. You see opportunities where others see gaps. You are comfortable working independently, and taking the initiative to identify and address work needed, but not necessarily assigned.

What You’ll Do.

Daily activities may include:

  • Primary contact for customers during the integration process
  • Lead scoping, build, testing, and data validation during the integration project
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including clinicians, data engineers, and EHR analysts to understand workflows and build integration requirements
  • Assess customer requirements and document business integration workflow
  • Proactively work with customer and internal counterparts to remove any project blockers and keep projects on track
  • Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of best practice documentation
  • Build solid relationships with all stakeholders
  • Assisting with Production Support as needed

What Makes You a Great Fit.

You’re a strong fit for the EHR Integration Specialist role if you bring a blend of technical know-how, clear communication, and project ownership. You’ll thrive in this role and at Murj if you:

  • Take initiative and own your work. You don’t wait to be told what to do; you spot what needs doing and jump in. Integration work can be nuanced and fast-moving, so being proactive is key.

  • Are technically fluent and confident in healthcare integration standards. You understand HL7, FHIR/APIs, and integration engines like MirthConnect, and you can use that knowledge to navigate complex builds and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

  • Bridge gaps between people and systems. You’re comfortable talking to both technical developers and clinical users. You can lead meetings, ask the right questions, and translate workflows into clear integration requirements.

  • Are highly organized and calm under pressure. You can manage multiple projects at different stages, keep stakeholders aligned, and move integrations forward, even when things get complex or timelines shift.

  • Care deeply about the work and the people. At Murj, we’re building technology that directly impacts patient care. That means attention to detail, responsiveness, and a team-first mindset are not optional - they’re how we work.

If you love solving problems, thrive in a dynamic environment, and want to work with people who are passionate, humble, and driven by purpose, you’ll fit right in here.

What You Bring.

  • 3+ years healthcare systems interoperability experience
  • Previous experience implementing both HL7 and FHIR/API integrations
  • Previous project management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical & non-technical audiences
  • Experience with at least 1 integration engine (ideally MirthConnect, but not required)
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues
  • Epic Cupid, EpicCare Ambulatory, or Epic Radiant certification (or proficiency)

Nice To Haves.

  • MirthConnect engine experience
  • Exposure and familiarity with multiple EHR systems (Epic, Oracle/Cerner, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, etc)

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days).

In your first three months, you’ll build the foundation to lead integration projects independently and confidently. Success in this role means showing that you can manage EHR integration end-to-end, from initial scoping to go-live with technical fluency and strong project management.

First 30 Days:

  • Get fully ramped up on Murj’s platform, integration capabilities, customer workflows, best practices, and tooling.
  • Shadow active integration projects to understand our approach to requirements gathering, mapping, testing, and stakeholder communication.
  • Start building relationships with internal teams (especially Customer Success, Product, and Engineering) to understand how we collaborate across functions.
  • Review existing documentation and past integrations to learn what “great” looks like.

Days 31–60:

  • Take the lead on specific portions of active integration projects—such as creating scope documents, participating in status meetings, or performing data validation.
  • Begin managing a small integration project with support from the team.
  • Participate in issue resolution and gain experience troubleshooting interface problems using available tools
  • Help identify opportunities to improve our processes and documentation.

Days 61–90:

  • Independently manage 1–2 integration projects from scoping through go-live.
  • Demonstrate confidence in leading customer conversations, capturing integration requirements, and coordinating with internal resources.
  • Be recognized as a go-to contact for integration questions—someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and solutions-focused.
  • Start contributing to knowledge-sharing and best practices to help improve the experience for future customers.

Travel expectations: 1-10%: Minimal to no travel; maybe a few meetings or events
