Operations Internship – Summer 2025

We are seeking a self‑motivated undergraduate student who is passionate about learning, problem solving, and efficiency in the context of global financial markets. Based in New York, you will join our Global Operations team and contribute to a high‑volume, technology‑driven investment management environment. Interns gain a front‑row view of how operational excellence and automation underpin the success of a leading hedge fund, while delivering real value through both tactical work and dedicated projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a close‑knit, technical operations team to support the firm’s activity across multiple markets and asset classes, including equities, credit, volatility, macro, and fixed income.
  • Build knowledge of core operational processes such as trade processing, securities lending, settlement, asset servicing, data management, and compliance.
  • Develop an understanding of how automation, data analytics, and AI‑driven solutions enable the firm to manage a high volume of global trading efficiently.
  • Use Python, SQL, and other programming tools to analyze and manipulate data, and contribute to automation and AI initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify workflow and system improvements, and partner with the team to implement change.
  • Engage with colleagues across Trading, Investment Analysis, Risk, Treasury, and Compliance.
  • Attend seminars hosted by prime brokerage counterparties to learn how the buy side and sell side interact.

 

Qualifications

  • Candidates graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as (but not limited to) Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and proactively engage with team members.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about financial markets and enthusiasm for data‑driven and AI‑enabled process improvement.
