Job Summary

1. Introduction to the Position

The Connectivity & Open Finance Team serves as the foundational pillar of our mission to engineer a data-driven financial ecosystem. We architect the critical infrastructure connecting thousands of financial institutions, facilitating secure, high-integrity, and standardized data exchange. Our engineers are currently leading the industry-wide transition from legacy data acquisition to sophisticated Financial Data Exchange (FDX) and FAPI-compliant API integrations, ensuring every platform interaction meets the highest standards of institutional security.

As we scale globally, the complexity of managing universal authentication standards (OAuth) and high-concurrency financial payloads necessitates a dedicated technical visionary. We are seeking a Lead Engineer who excels at the intersection of Ruby on Rails performance optimization and rigorous financial-grade security protocols.

As a Technical Lead, you will directly impact our growth by shortening the time-to-market for new financial partnerships. Your success will be measured by the resilience of our API connections, the speed of our data synchronization, and our ability to maintain a "Zero-Trust" architecture that our clients and regulators can rely on.

2. Job Responsibilities

  • Architect & Execute: Direct the development of high-performance API backend systems using Ruby on Rails, serving as the primary engine for FDX-compliant data exchange.

  • Design Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive, end-to-end OAuth session lifecycles.

  • Systems Resilience: Build and maintain a cloud-native API framework emphasizing modularity to allow for seamless provider transitions with zero downtime.

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Security and DevOps to deliver automated Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) and self-healing connectivity pipelines.

  • Operational Analytics: Utilize Datadog to analyze system health, informing architectural iterations that reduce latency and maximize token refresh success rates.

  • Quality Advocacy: Drive quality standards by implementing consumer-driven contract testing (Pact) and ensuring total compliance with FDX certification suites.

3. Basic Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years of hands-on expertise in Ruby on Rails within API-first ecosystems.

  • 3+ years in a Technical Leadership or Architectural role, specifically focused on OAuth or OpenID Connect implementations.

  • Sector Expertise: Extensive experience in heavily regulated industries (Fintech, Banking) with a proven track record in data privacy and security compliance.

  • Engineering Excellence: Expert proficiency with Git/GitHub workflows, including advanced branching strategies and rigorous peer code reviews.

  • Infrastructure Security: Ability to collaborate on infrastructure-as-code updates supporting Mutual TLS (mTLS) and secure certificate lifecycle management.

  • System Architecture: Proficient in application boilerplate development and high-level system design patterns.

  • Data Infrastructure: Advanced proficiency in managing high-volume financial datasets utilizing BigQuery and PostgreSQL.

4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Ruby Performance Tuning: Expertise in memory management and multi-threaded background processing for high-volume data ingestion.

  • Open Source Leadership: Active contributor to relevant Ruby gems or financial API standards bodies.

5. Technological Environment - Good to have experience

  • Cloud Management: Experience managing cloud-based API infrastructure within GCP, including load balancing and automated certificate rotation.

  • Open Banking Standards: Familiarity with the FDX framework or global Open Banking regulations.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
