Our freemium app, supported by ads, is a key part of our mission to make food tracking accessible to everyone. MyFitnessPal aims to enhance the user experience by incorporating premium ad formats that are engaging for users while creating meaningful revenue opportunities as our user base continues to grow. As we expand our advertising business, we're also building new monetization opportunities beyond the app to help brands connect with our highly engaged health and wellness audience.

About the role:

The Sr. Ad Operation Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading the execution, optimization, and operational strategy for MyFitnessPal's advertising business across owned-and-operated inventory and off-platform monetization channels.

As the operational expert for our advertising business, you'll own campaign execution, yield optimization, and advertising operations across direct-sold, programmatic, email, IAM, paid social, audience extension, and emerging advertising products. Partnering closely with Sales, Client Success, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Lifecycle, Finance, and external partners, you'll develop scalable processes, drive operational excellence, and deliver exceptional experiences for both advertisers and MyFitnessPal members.

The ideal candidate combines deep ad tech expertise with a strategic mindset and exceptional communication skills. You thrive in fast-paced environments, using data and technology to solve complex operational challenges while serving as a trusted partner to clients, agencies, technology partners, and cross-functional teams. You are comfortable leading both technical and commercial conversations, and you can translate complex concepts into actionable recommendations that improve campaign performance, unlock new revenue opportunities, and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Operations & Monetization

  • Own end-to-end execution, delivery, optimization, and reporting for advertising campaigns across direct-sold, partnerships, programmatic, email sponsorships, paid social, audience extension, and emerging advertising products
  • Monitor campaign pacing and performance, proactively identify and resolve delivery issues, and ensure campaign goals and client commitments are met
  • Ensure flawless campaign execution through rigorous quality assurance and operational best practices.
  • Partner with Sales, Client Success, Marketing, CRM, and Product teams to launch, optimize, and scale advertising campaigns across owned and off-platform channels
  • Serve as the operational lead in advertiser and agency conversations, providing technical guidance, campaign recommendations, and strategic solutions that build trust and drive long-term partnerships
  • Collaborate with audience and data partners to activate first-party audiences in privacy-compliant ways that maximize advertiser value and revenue
  • Evaluate and operationalize new advertising products, monetization opportunities, and cross-channel measurement frameworks
  • Develop scalable workflows, documentation, automation, and operational best practices that improve efficiency and support business growth

Yield & Revenue Optimization

  • Develop and execute yield optimization strategies across direct and programmatic demand sources.
  • Analyze campaign, inventory, pricing, and revenue performance to maximize advertising revenue while maintaining a positive member experience
  • Partner with Sales and Finance on forecasting, inventory planning, pricing strategies, and revenue optimization initiatives
  • Present recommendations and business insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders that inform monetization strategy and business decisions

Ad Tech & Innovation

  • Own relationships with key advertising technology platforms, including Google Ad Manager (GAM), SSPs, DSPs, measurement partners, and audience activation providers
  • Evaluate new advertising technologies, tools, and workflows to improve operational efficiency and support business growth
  • Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual work and improve campaign scalability
  • Stay current on industry trends, privacy regulations, identity solutions, and emerging advertising technologies, recommending new opportunities for MyFitnessPal

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital advertising operations
  • Experience managing advertising across owned-and-operated inventory and off-platform channels such as email, paid social, audience extension, retail media, or similar ecosystems
  • Experience working within a mobile app, digital publisher, or media company is strongly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Google Ad Manager (GAM), SSPs, DSPs, programmatic advertising, and ad serving technologies
  • Experience with ad verification, attribution, measurement, and reporting platforms
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, campaign trafficking, yield optimization, and revenue operations
  • Experience supporting CRM and email advertising programs, paid social activation, or audience extension initiatives
  • Familiarity with Braze, Airtable, or similar customer engagement platforms is a plus
  • Understanding of first-party audience activation, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), identity solutions, and consent frameworks
  • Experience using Tableau or similar analytics and reporting tools
  • Comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership, advertisers, agencies, and technology partners
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Values you’ll model

  • Live Good Health — champion healthy habits and balance in how we work and what we ship.
  • Be Data-Inspired — ground decisions in research and data; measure what matters.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
