Chief Marketing Officer (Remote)

You are an experienced marketing executive with a proven track record of driving high-impact strategic initiatives at VARs or technology integrators. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in big-picture thinking and tactical execution to make a significant impact. Your data-driven approach and ability to balance bold opinions with collaborative teamwork are essential. Your passion for evangelizing brands and strengthening industry relationships will be crucial to our success. Working closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, you will play a key role in shaping and executing a transformative marketing strategy that drives both individual and business growth.

About The Role:

As our Chief Marketing Officer, you will spearhead transformative growth across several key areas. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing a strategic marketing plan designed to accelerate growth and enhance our market position. You will identify essential metrics, implement measurement systems, and ensure that we focus on what matters most for our success.

You will continuously refine how we present our brand to the market, enhancing visibility and resonance. Your focus will include advancing digital marketing, event management, strategic alliances, and business development initiatives in collaboration with the marketing team and sales department.

All of this will be achieved with a strong emphasis on cost-efficiency, ensuring maximum impact without significant increases in expenditure. This high-impact role demands expertise in both strategic and tactical marketing, making a substantial contribution to our company’s ongoing success.

Additional Responsibilities:

Strategic Marketing Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the company's marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and client acquisition.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align marketing goals with overall business objectives.
  • Lead market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.

Brand Development and Positioning:

  • Refine and communicate the company's unique value proposition across all marketing channels.
  • Ensure brand consistency and messaging integrity in all external communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry influencers, and partners.

Digital Marketing and Online Presence:

  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, and social media.
  • Manage the company’s website to ensure it reflects our brand and engages visitors effectively.
  • Analyze digital marketing metrics to optimize campaigns and drive ROI.

Content Strategy and Thought Leadership:

  • Lead content marketing initiatives, including whitepapers, blog posts, case studies, and webinars.
  • Position company executives as thought leaders through speaking engagements and industry events.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create compelling, educational content.

Sales Enablement:

  • Work closely with the sales team to develop tools and materials that support the sales process.
  • Provide the sales team with market insights, competitive intelligence, and client personas.
  • Develop training programs to equip the sales team with effective marketing collateral.

Strategic Alliances and Partnerships:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage partnerships for joint marketing campaigns and business development.
  • Increase marketing development funds from partners to support our initiatives.

Event Management:

  • Plan and execute industry events, conferences, and webinars to showcase our expertise.
  • Identify speaking opportunities for company representatives to amplify our presence.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on key marketing metrics, adjusting strategies as needed.

Compliance: 

  • Complete ongoing security awareness training and comply with company policies to the requirements section.
  • Identify and escalate security risks to the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and actively contribute to remediation efforts.

Desired Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience across various marketing disciplines, including branding, digital marketing, content creation, event management, strategic alliances, and business development.
  • Previous experience at a VAR or technology integrator, ideally in a marketing or sales role, with a solid understanding of the industry.
  • Prior leadership experience with responsibility for strategic direction, budget ownership, and team management.
  • Track record of mentoring and growing a team to meet business needs.
  • Strong ability to present to senior leadership and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the B2B marketing landscape, including marketplace trends, competitive analysis, and key performance indicators.
  • Experience in driving performance through metrics and KPIs, with a proven ability to optimize marketing strategies based on performance insights.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a history of securing stakeholder buy-in and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Pursuant to the NYC Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range in New York City for this position is $250,000 – 300,000, plus opportunities for bonus and/or commission programs. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
