With deep, real-world experience across healthcare, education, government, manufacturing, and retail, Advizex delivers IT solutions that solve meaningful business challenges across infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, automation, and AI.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Advizex’s Strategy and Transformation practice delivers advisory services across technology strategy, enterprise architecture, security and risk, data, operating model, and people and change. Our clients are making real technology decisions with real dollars at stake and need advisors who can operate across technical assessment and executive recommendation.

We are seeking a Principal Consultant to help shape and lead execution of technology strategy and architecture engagements while partnering closely with senior advisory leadership. This role translates strategy into disciplined execution and ensures successful client outcomes.

Engagement teams are intentionally lean. You will own delivery workstreams from the start, bring judgment to how engagements are structured and executed, and build client relationships that deepen over time.

This is an opportunity to do serious advisory work, contribute to an expanding practice, and grow toward broader engagement leadership over time.

Candidates must be based in the United States.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead execution of assessment and advisory engagements from discovery through executive recommendation
  • Conduct current-state assessments across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), on-premises infrastructure, enterprise applications, and technology governance and delivery structures
  • Analyze and synthesize findings into clear, defensible insights that hold up under client scrutiny
  • Develop target-state recommendations, technology roadmaps, and architecture options with supporting rationale
  • Translate technology decisions into business implications through structured analysis, scenario evaluation, and, where appropriate, financial modeling and business case development
  • Create polished, executive-ready presentations and own deliverable quality end to end
  • Facilitate client discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and executive workshops
  • Structure ambiguous problems into clear approaches with defined milestones and outcomes
  • Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and opportunity shaping, with delivery remaining the primary focus
  • Principals in this role remain directly involved in analysis, synthesis, and deliverable development rather than operating solely as coordinators or reviewers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to independently structure engagements and drive them through to conclusion.
  • 8–12 years of experience in management consulting, technology advisory, or enterprise architecture consulting
  • Experience leading complex, assessment-based engagements with increasing ownership of execution
  • Ability to operate across strategy, architecture, and delivery discussions
  • Broad technology advisory experience with genuine depth in at least two domains (cloud, infrastructure, enterprise platforms, data, architecture)
  • Strong executive communication and facilitation skills
  • Experience developing executive-level deliverables and translating technical analysis into clear business and financial implications
  • Working understanding of AI and its implications for enterprise technology strategy and operating models
  • High ownership mindset, intellectual curiosity, and low ego

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a project management or program oversight role
  • Not an implementation, managed services, or staff augmentation position
  • Not a strategy role disconnected from delivery
  • Not a position where you operate solely as a reviewer or delegator

Why This Role Is Different

Most advisory roles at this level introduce layers of management and distance from clients and decisions. This one does not.

You will work directly alongside experienced advisory leadership in a focused team environment where your judgment is trusted and your contribution is visible.

This practice is expanding. Consultants who come in early will have the opportunity to grow into broader client ownership and help build a high-performing advisory team.

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)

  • Owns delivery workstreams from day one and drives them to completion with minimal direction
  • Earns client trust quickly as a credible senior advisor
  • Produces structured analysis and recommendations that withstand client scrutiny and drive executive decisions
  • Leads client working sessions and stakeholder interviews confidently
  • Operates with increasing independence, driving engagements forward with minimal oversight while strengthening overall delivery capacity.

As an Advizex employee, you will be eligible for the following benefits and perks:

  • Company-subsidized medical benefits
  • Dental and vision coverage offered
  • 17 PTO days
  • Flexible Work Arrangements
  • Retirement Savings Plans
  • Paid Long Term Disability
  • Basic Life Insurance offered

Pursuant to the NYC Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range in New York City for this position is $180,000-$200,000 base salary, plus opportunities for bonus and/or commission. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
