
Senior Analytics Engineer

We’re seeking a highly-skilled Senior Analytics Engineer to create analytical experiences and build the underlying data pipelines/warehouses. In this role, you will partner directly with game teams to understand their data needs and implement comprehensive solutions across the data lifecycle—from pipeline development to data dashboard creation and to data analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design intuitive, streamlined analytical experiences
• Develop sophisticated data models in BigQuery using Looker's LookML
• Design robust data pipelines to ensure required data is available in a data warehouse with a reliable cadence
• Create reports analyzing Mythical’s game/marketplace data and present them to appropriate stakeholders
• Optimize analytics performance and data structure improvements (eg query optimization, data rollups)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field
• 3+ years of professional experience in analytics and data pipelines/warehouses
• 3+ years of experience with SQL and a programming language (eg Python, Java)
• Experience with gaming analytics and player behavior metrics
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Dataflow)
• Experience with Data Analysis Tools such as Looker or Tableau
• Excellent communication skills
• Proactive mindset with passion for continuous learning and improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years working directly with game development teams in an embedded analytics role
• LookML Developer Certification
• Google Cloud Certifications
• Background in data modeling and dimensional design
The expected base salary range for this role is based on the location where the employee’s work will be performed and is aligned to one of our three compensation pay range tiers. Base pay is just one part of Mythical’s total compensation package, which is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their efforts and contributions. This role is also eligible to participate in Mythical’s Corporate Bonus and Equity Plan.
Pay Ranges by Tier:
Tier 1: $146,000 - $201,000
Tier 2: $114,000 - $157,000
Tier 3: $102,000 - $140,000
Locations by Tier:
Tier 1 Locations: San Francisco Bay Area - California
Tier 2 Locations: Remainder of California (outside of the SF Bay Area), Washington state, Massachusetts state, New York state
Tier 3 Locations: All other states outside of California, Washington, Massachusetts, and New York
*The role is open to candidates in the following states on a remote basis: California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Texas & Washington
The base salary for each successful applicant will be dependent on a variety of factors, including work location, education, qualifications, competencies, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands.
