Head of Campaigns & Social (Mat Cover)

London, Nottingham or UK Remote*

*this role is open to remote working within the UK. Successful candidates will be required to travel to their closest UNiDAYS campus (London or Nottingham) on occasion.

The role in a nutshell

We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and performance-driven Head of Campaigns & Social to join UNiDAYS on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This role will lead the strategic direction and execution of global member marketing campaigns and our organic social presence, ensuring all activity drives brand impact, student engagement, and commercial opportunity.

You'll oversee campaign planning and delivery across key seasonal moments, lead our approach to organic social (with a focus on Gen Z channels), and manage performance reporting across both areas. You’ll also coach and support a team and work closely with internal stakeholders and agency partners.

Day to day responsibilities

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated member marketing campaigns (e.g. Back to School, Black Friday, Loan Drops), aligning with brand, product, and commercial goals.
  • Own and maintain a rolling 12-month marketing calendar, with a clearly documented 6-month view including critical student insight, creative themes, campaign deliverables, and partner opportunities.
  • Partner with Creative, Commercial, and CRM teams to shape campaign messages, channel plans, and post-campaign analysis
  • Ensure campaign toolkits and one-pagers are created for major campaigns to drive internal alignment and partner sell-in.
  • Deliver campaign wrap-up reports, with consistent metrics and actionable insights

Organic Social Strategy & Growth

  • Lead the organic social strategy for UNiDAYS across platforms, with a focus on Gen Z-preferred channels.
  • Ensure social campaigns align seamlessly with wider marketing moments for a consistent member experience.
  • Set goals and performance expectations for social media agencies, managing delivery and output across key campaigns and content streams.

Performance & Reporting

  • Define and track metrics for organic social and campaigns to show business impact in a consistent manner
  • Leverage analytics and reporting to monitor performance and identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.
  • Contribute to weekly Business Performance Reviews

Leadership and Team Management

    • Lead and support a team including across social media and campaigns
    • Provide day-to-day coaching and strategic direction to help the team thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Build strong relationships with internal teams (Creative, Commercial, CRM, Product) and external agencies, fostering smooth collaboration and high output.
    • Contribute to cross-functional campaign planning sessions and support Commercial with insight-led campaign packages.

What we need from you

  • Proven experience leading integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns targeting Gen Z or youth audiences.
  • A strong grasp of organic social strategy, with a track record of growing reach, engagement, and brand relevance across key platforms.
  • Hands-on experience working with and managing social media agencies and influencer partners.
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to turn insight into action—from audience research to post-campaign analysis.
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams, with a focus on collaborative delivery and development.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills, particularly in cross-functional or matrixed organisations.
  • Knowledge of the UK student market (experience with Germany, France and US markets is a plus).
