About Nametag
Nametag is building the future of secure digital identity. Our mission is to protect every human identity to restore trust in the AI era. We bring workforce-grade identity verification into the enterprise to verify the human behind accounts and critical actions. Today, global enterprises use Nametag across their workforce to prevent social engineering and deepfake impersonation attacks.
The Role
Nametag is hiring a Director of Product Marketing to own positioning, launch, and sales enablement for Nametag's core identity verification platform and its solutions; the account-recovery and helpdesk workflows most of today's revenue and pipeline run through. This is a senior, individual-contributor role for someone who has carried product marketing end to end at a B2B security company before: positioning that holds up under a CISO's scrutiny, launches that ship with sales enablement attached instead of following weeks later, and competitive claims a competitor's own product marketer would call fair. You'll be the person other teams turn to for the accurate, current answer on how Nametag describes itself across sales conversations, the website, analyst briefings, and every deck in between.
Role Overview
As Director of Product Marketing, you will own positioning and messaging for Nametag's core identity verification platform, and be the point of accountability for keeping that message consistent as the company grows quickly. You will lead messaging and materials creation for new product launches, build and maintain the sales enablement and competitive materials our go-to-market teams rely on daily, keep strict documentation of all product features and new releases, and partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Growth Marketing, Channel Partnerships, and Product Management. You’ll also have particularly close ties to the ITSM and IAM integration ecosystem (Okta, ServiceNow, Microsoft Entra ID, Zendesk).
What you’ll do
Positioning & Messaging
- Own Nametag's core-IDV narratives, and serve as the arbiter of how they're positioned across every customer-facing surface.
- Maintain and enforce the company's messaging and style guide: sourcing rules, canonical terminology, approved claims, so the same product doesn't end up with different language in the market at once.
- Translate product capabilities into messaging that holds up for a CISO, a security/IAM leader, an IT leader, and a helpdesk leader; the buyers and influencers Nametag sells into.
Product Launches & Go-to-Market
- Own the go-to-market plan for new core-platform and solution modules and features from kickoff to launch: messaging, positioning, sales enablement, and cross-functional coordination with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
- Build repeatable launch frameworks: messaging pillars, soundbites, ICP and stakeholder mapping, objection handling, so each launch doesn't start from a blank page.
- Define and track launch success metrics in partnership with Product Management and Marketing Ops.
Competitive Intelligence & Differentiation
- Own competitive battlecards and differentiation materials against MFA/authentication vendors and consumer-grade KYC vendors expanding into workforce use cases, and keep them current as the market moves.
- Research and articulate how Nametag's core verification differs from adjacent categories in terms a technical buyer will find credible, not dismissive.
- Keep every competitive claim sourced and fair: testable against how the competitor would describe themselves.
Sales Enablement
- Build and maintain the materials Sales, Customer Success, and Channel Partnerships use daily for deals: one-pagers, talk tracks, discovery questions, objection handling, and the master decks used with prospects.
- Train Sales and Solutions Engineering on new positioning, features, and competitive intelligence.
- Partner with Channel Partnerships on enablement for technology and reseller partners (e.g., ServiceNow, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID), so partner-sourced deals have the same quality of material as direct ones.
Analyst & Industry Relations
- Brief industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, KuppingerCole) and manage Nametag's participation in relevant IAM/identity-verification research and reports, including our current Gartner Magic Quadrant Visionary recognition.
- Represent Nametag's product story at industry events, webinars, and customer-facing presentations.
Pricing, Packaging & Proof
- Own how Nametag communicates pricing and packaging for the core platform and solutions.
- Maintain the ROI/TCO methodology used in sales conversations (e.g., helpdesk ticket reduction, cost-per-reset), with sourcing rigorous enough to survive a technical buyer's second look.
- Develop customer stories and case studies with named accounts, in partnership with Customer Success, that hold up as proof rather than testimonials.
Customer & Market Research
- Maintain and refine Nametag's IT/security ICP and buyer-persona models as the customer base grows into new verticals.
- Stay current on the threat landscape and regulatory environment Nametag's customers operate in, and translate that into content and talking points Sales and Marketing can use.
What You Bring
We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, even if you don't meet every listed qualification. You'll thrive in this role if you bring most of the following:
- 8+ years in product marketing, including several years at a B2B cybersecurity, identity, or enterprise security software company.
- A track record of owning positioning and messaging for a technical security product, and making it hold up under scrutiny from CISOs and security/IAM leaders.
- Experience leading product launches end to end: messaging, sales enablement, and cross-functional coordination, not just the content around the edges of one.
- Deep fluency with enterprise security buyers and B2B security sales cycles; comfortable being precise about technical distinctions (e.g., authentication vs. verification) that matter to a technical audience.
- Familiarity with the ITSM/IAM integration ecosystem (Okta, ServiceNow, Microsoft Entra ID, Zendesk) is a strong plus.
- Strong competitive intelligence instincts: comfortable building battlecards and differentiation frameworks that are accurate and fair, not just favorable.
- Experience partnering with industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, KuppingerCole, or similar) is a strong plus.
- Excellent, disciplined writing. Comfortable being the person who enforces consistent terminology and voice across a fast-moving team, not just the person who writes copy.
- Experience with sales enablement tooling (e.g., HubSpot) and building or maintaining ROI/TCO models is a plus.
- A strong sense of ownership: comfortable being the final word on message consistency at a small, fast-growing company where that job doesn't yet have a lot of scaffolding around it.
- Enthusiasm for integrating AI tools like Claude into your everyday workflow; a keen sense of the difference between “AI slop” and AI-generated assets.
What We Value
- Intellectual horsepower. Quickly grasping complex technical and business concepts.
- Kindness and integrity. Earning trust is central to how we build relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Bias for action. We move quickly to deliver impact and protect our customers against fast-moving threats.
- Ownership mindset. You care about uptime and stability the way a founder cares about the product.
