Engineering Manager, Reporting & Analytics
Narvar is growing! Narvar’s DNA (Data and Analytics) team is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Reporting and Analytics team. In this role, you will oversee the development and optimization of our reporting tools and analytics platforms that provide critical insights to our retailers. Your leadership will drive metric standardization, enhance reporting capabilities, and support our Monitor product. You will manage a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day
- Lead the Reporting and Analytics Team: Manage and mentor a high-performing engineering team responsible for reporting and analytics solutions.
- Develop and Enhance Reporting Tools: Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of reporting platforms such as Hub Reporting, Metabase, and Looker.
- Embed Analytics: Lead the initiative to provide embedded analytics solutions that seamlessly integrate analytics into our products and services.
- Metric Standardization: Drive the standardization of metrics across the organization to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
- Support Monitor Product: Oversee the support and enhancement of the Monitor product to provide valuable insights and analytics.
- Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work closely with product, analytics, and other engineering teams to integrate data insights into business strategies.
- Drive Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends in reporting and analytics to enhance our capabilities.
- Project Management: Utilize agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or technical leadership roles.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, balancing both technical leadership and people management responsibilities.
- Proven expertise with reporting and analytics platforms such as Superset, Metabase, Looker, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling and metric standardization.
- Experience with embedding analytics into products and services.
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS for data analytics solutions.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in high-growth environments or startups, focusing on scaling analytics systems.
- Familiarity with modern data architecture solutions and DataOps practices.
- Experience with customer-facing analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong business acumen to align technical projects with overall business strategy.
