Verafin - Software Developer Senior Specialist (Network Platform)

St. John's

The Role

We're looking for a Software Developer Senior Specialist to join our Network Platform team, reporting to the Sr. Manager – Software Development. In this role, you'll help build the network foundation that supports the Verafin product. Working at the lowest level of infrastructure in the cloud, your projects will have huge impact across the business.

This team sits at the intersection of cloud networking, security, and platform engineering. Your work will directly support the scalability and reliability of Verafin's entire platform, enabling seamless connectivity across multi-account AWS environments and ensuring robust network boundaries that protect sensitive financial data.

You'll fit right in if you're hands-on and collaborative, comfortable designing complex network architectures, enjoy working with cutting-edge AWS networking services, and get energy from building foundational systems that enable other teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences!

What You'll Do

  • Lead and deliver large-scale network infrastructure initiatives, including advanced multi-account connectivity solutions using AWS Cloud WAN and VPC Lattice architectures.

  • Translate business and platform needs into well-designed, secure, and highly-available network solutions that meet strict compliance requirements.

  • Design and implement sophisticated traffic management and content distribution systems that ensure optimal performance across global regions.

  • Collaborate closely with security, platform engineering, and development teams to build network foundations that scale with business growth.

  • Mentor and support other developers, contribute to technical direction, and raise the bar for network security, performance, and reliability across the organization.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience at Nasdaq / Nasdaq Verafin, with 5+ years of professional software development or network engineering experience.

  • Proven ability to lead technical work, design complex network architectures, and deliver outcomes in highly regulated financial environments.

  • Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with security, compliance, and engineering teams across multiple time zones.

  • Deep expertise with AWS networking services (VPC, Cloud WAN, VPC Lattice, PrivateLink).

  • Proven skills writing and reading complex infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with advanced AWS networking patterns in multi-account, highly-regulated environments.

  • AWS Security or Networking certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking, Security Specialty).

  • Familiarity with Disaster Recovery best practices and multi-region failover patterns.

This position will be located in St. John's, Toronto or Montréal and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
