POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist / Gen AI Engineer with deep expertise in the medical industry, particularly in laboratory operations, sales, billing, and customer experience data science models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and deploying advanced data science and Gen AI solutions to drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and meet customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced data science models that support lab operations, billing, sales, revenue cycle management and customer experience strategies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to identify and prioritize data science projects that align with business objectives.

  • Utilize Gen AI tools and frameworks to build scalable and customized solutions that address complex business challenges in the healthcare domain.

  • Develop predictive analytics, machine learning models, and AI-powered applications to enhance patient experience, optimize billing processes, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure efficient data pipelines and integration with existing systems. Proficiency in leveraging cloud services such as Snowflake Data Cloud(e.g., Cortex AI, Document AI), AWS (e.g., Redshift, Glue, SageMaker, ML pipeline), and GCP (e.g., BigQuery, Vertex AI, ML pipeline) is highly valued.

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable insights by creating dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations.

  • Implement and maintain a robust data governance framework to ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Act as a key advisor in cross-departmental initiatives, working closely with sales teams to develop predictive models that drive customer acquisition and retention strategies.

  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership to foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. Lead data science discussions and strategy sessions with senior management.

  • Present findings and model performance metrics to stakeholders and executive teams in a clear, concise, and actionable manner, showcasing the impact of projects on business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. PhD is a plus.

  • 7+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years working in the medical or healthcare industry.

  • Proven experience with medical billing systems, claims lifecycle management, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) such as LabWorks or similar.

  • Strong expertise in developing machine learning models, predictive analytics, and AI-driven solutions tailored to healthcare datasets.

  • Knowledge of Snowflake, AWS, and GCP platforms is an added advantage.

  • Proficiency with programming languages and tools such as Python, R, SQL, and cloud-based machine learning platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker).

  • Experience deploying Gen AI solutions, including NLP and deep learning models, for business applications.

  • Proficiency in using data visualization tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau to create dynamic, interactive reports.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills to guide teams and present complex data-driven insights in an actionable way.

  • Knowledge of agile project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience in mentoring and guiding data science teams.

  • Attention to detail and strong commitment to maintaining data integrity and quality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Familiarity with customer experience analytics and patient satisfaction models.

  • Expertise in integrating Gen AI chatbots and virtual assistants tailored for healthcare use cases, such as conversational AI for patient support and sales optimization.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
