POSITION SUMMARY

As part of the Women's Health Software Product team, the Sr Product Manager will help achieve Natera's strategic imperatives through excellence in technology.   

They will work on a suite of products that are critical to lab operations, R&D, process development, customer support, commercial operations, genetic counseling, reporting, bioinformatics, statistics, and more. They will need to deeply understand the end-to-end workflow and the technical details of the software systems to deliver our best in class personalized genetic tests.

They will use this knowledge to translate and document detailed use cases and product requirements. The Sr. Product Manager must be able to drive prioritization and critical decision-making on solutions.

 

FOCUS AREA 

This position will be a contributor and driver of the ‘Fetal Focus’ software roadmap. They will focus on our end-to-end software stack to support our Fetal Focus product line. This will include enhancing the Fetal Focus product's clinical impact, user experience, and operational efficiency by identifying new opportunities, gathering cross-functional input, and translating customer needs into actionable features. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, technical acumen, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through innovation in prenatal testing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Immerse yourself in the tough problems we’re solving, and team with R&D, designers, engineers, clinical product managers, and operations to develop elegant software solutions to solve those problems.
  • Develop the product strategy and roadmap for your product line.
  • Communicate with senior-level stakeholders to champion your roadmap and gain buy-in for product plans
  • Transform business, market and clinical requirements into executable product requirements
  • Own and prioritize a feature backlog to align with the overall strategic roadmap.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on our software products and create a shared understanding among business and technical teams.
  • Produce deliverables that facilitate better understanding for feedback such as flow diagrams, data models, pros/cons, prototypes, wireframes and other illustrations.
  • Define what success looks like for your product and measure it.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to ensure you know what makes a best-in-class user experience for your product line.
  • Incorporate a focus on quality into product design and work closely with development and software quality assurance teams on product and process improvements.
  • Solicit user feedback and funnel new requirements and product changes back into software development.
  • Evangelize your products across the organization, drive integration and ensure desired positive impact is achieved. Have a sense of ownership for everything you engage in.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in software product management, ideally in the healthcare IT or biotech industry. 
  • Extensive experience in conceptualizing, defining and creating best in class software experiences
  • Experience with Agile software development, building solutions from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, relationship-building, and analytical skills
  • Experience with implementing scalable and sophisticated business rule applications.
  • Experience building enterprise software or business critical systems is a plus.
  • A proven track record of cross-functional leadership.
  • Well developed systems thinking
  • BA/BS degree in relevant technical, scientific, or quantitative discipline or relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Customer research and survey skills – how to ask good questions, listen carefully, and synthesize information into clear customer and business needs.
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with individuals, and influence individuals across functional areas and in team environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of products and markets, or ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and describe technical complexities in a simplified way appropriate to different audiences
  • Be able to break down large projects into granular milestones and track progress.
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
