POSITION SUMMARY:

Join Natera’s Clinical Innovation & Therapeutics team as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology. You will serve as a field-based scientific expert supporting our personalized Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) portfolio while acting as a clinical advisor to our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Product organization to advance precision oncology. Every sample represents a real person, and you will engage clinicians, investigators, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to facilitate scientific exchange, support clinical research, and translate oncology practice into product requirements that shape future patient care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver direct, data-backed scientific and clinical presentations supporting Natera’s oncology products and developing pipeline
  • Establish and manage rigorous scientific relationships with investigators, oncologists, and KOLs in relevant oncology areas, such as Breast, Gynecological Oncology, or Hematology
  • Serve as the scientific and clinical liaison to investigators and KOLs—supporting protocol implementation, strengthening referral networks, and addressing recruitment challenges using data
  • Support and coordinate clinical trial and research initiatives at academic institutions and study sites
  • Partner directly with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Product, communicating clearly and pushing for action without needing translation layers
  • Contribute medical and scientific expertise to the creation and review of healthcare provider materials, communication tools, and publications to ensure scientific accuracy
  • Represent Natera at scientific and clinical congresses
  • Serve as the clinical advisor to the AI Product organization, translating clinical workflows, oncology practice, and user needs into product requirements and decision-support capabilities
  • Provide clinical and scientific input to the design and interpretation of clinical validation studies, evaluating AI-enabled products against established clinical reference standards and real-world workflows
  • Provide ongoing clinical expertise to Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to ensure AI solutions strictly align with clinical practice and regulatory expectations
  • Engage in ongoing learning to maintain expertise across scientific, clinical, and regulatory areas
  • Take ownership of gaps in clinical validation or product alignment, executing without waiting to be told where responsibility starts
  • Travel extensively as required (up to 10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree required; advanced healthcare or scientific degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP) or relevant board certification (e.g., board-certified Genetic Counselor) preferred
  • Previous MSL experience preferred
  • Oncology clinical or scientific experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with clinical trial conduct and ICH-GCP, with experience supporting investigator relationships and clinical trial recruitment
  • Experience supporting the design or interpretation of clinical validation studies for AI-enabled diagnostics preferred
  • Experience working within small- to mid-sized biotechnology companies preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM/CTMS-type platforms

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently, guide cross-functional initiatives, and build alignment with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Rely on data rather than opinion to evaluate clinical workflows and validate AI-enabled products against established clinical reference standards
  • Use data to pressure-test assumptions and root-cause challenges in clinical trial recruitment and product adoption
  • Operate without a finished playbook, adjusting rapidly as the science, product surface, and business continue to evolve
  • Think team by pulling cross-functional partners into the work, ensuring seamless communication across clinical and product organizations without translation layers
  • Clear, direct written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret and present complex scientific information
  • Builds and sustains effective relationships internally and externally

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
