Facilities Operations Technician Master - Master Electrician

Role Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing systems and building related equipment and devices at an advanced level. Duties include performing inspections, repair and maintenance activities, preventative maintenance (PM) programs, new installations, operation of systems, and responding to emergency calls. Work is performed under the direction of the Operations Manager and under the general direction of the Facilities Operations Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, Repair and Maintain - Coordinate, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and maintain relevant systems as defined below.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) - Perform PM inspections and repairs of relevant systems as defined below.
- Installation - Install new equipment, fixtures, devices or systems as defined below.
- Systems Operation – Ensure all relevant systems as defined below are in good working condition and are operating efficiently and effectively, performing periodic testing as required.
- Electrical systems include, but are not limited to, electrical outlets, data cables, circuit breakers, high voltage primary electric service and distribution equipment, PDT (power, data, telephone) systems, light bulbs, Fire alarm system, access card system, overhead door system, life support systems, closed circuit video systems, pager systems and white noise systems.
- Projects - Provide labor and material estimates for small remodel projects. Coordinate and/or lead inspections for contractor performed work in renovations and new construction projects.
- Building Automation System – (BAS) Monitor a PC-based computer matrix software system and take appropriate action regarding temperature variations, alarms or abnormalities.
- Emergency Response - Respond to emergency calls, evaluate situation, consult with team as needed and take proper corrective action.
- Safety - follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate manager. Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and State/Local safety regulations.
- Interdepartmental Assistance – Help team members from other disciplines when needed.
- Regulatory Compliance - Properly dispose of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with regulations. Ensure compliance with applicable air quality, storm water and other environmental and regulatory programs.
- Customer service – represent the Facilities team in providing the highest level of customer service.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant experience. Commercial experience is preferred.
- Master License in the State of Vermont in the appropriate field, if applicable.
- High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school or short-term courses resulting in Master License.
- Valid Vermont driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of technology used to inspect and clean systems.
- Advanced knowledge of general repair and maintenance equipment and efficient use of repair parts and tools required.
- Ability to read and follow building blueprints and make sure all systems meet building codes.
- Ability to perform math computations needed in trade.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to promote and follow National Life Group policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate manager.
- Familiarity with SDS and lockout/tagout.
- Action oriented, self-motivated and works well others.
- Willingness for continued improvement and enhanced skills.

Base Pay Range. The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Hourly Pay Range
$24 - $36 USD
