Role Summary 

We are looking for an experienced Sales Leader to join our Affiliated Channel leadership team.  As a Regional Vice President, your focus will be to form strong partnerships with agencies ensuring mutually beneficial relationships with an emphasis on customer service, business development, profitability, and retention. You will also lead a dedicated sales team to develop new and emerging business and achieve consistent growth in life and annuity sales while helping to grow and expand advisor sales though the broker dealer, Equity Services, Inc.  You will also have supervisory responsibilities related to registered persons affiliated with Equity Services.  

This role will provide leadership for strategic initiatives and facilitate alignment between the Distribution Channel and corporate strategy, product creation, operations, and other home office areas.  Successful candidates will possess exceptional relationship building skills with a sales focus, excellent communication and presentation abilities, strong work ethic, a passion for life and annuity products, and a competitive drive to succeed.  

This position currently offers an onsite hybrid work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days.  Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with Distribution leadership to explore innovative ideas to develop long-term strategic growth plans that strengthen our core markets and broadens our reach into new markets. 
  • In partnership with the EVP of Affiliated Distribution, provide expertise and leadership to internal teams to influence product strategy, enhance customer service and marketing, and improve operational effectiveness. 
  • Identify and establish new distribution partnerships and grow and strengthen strategic relationships with existing National Life Groups distribution partners to develop and implement growth-oriented business goals. 
  • Partner with Internal Sales Associates and Key Account Representatives to develop new and emerging business and achieve consistent growth in life and annuity sales. 
  • Support the growth and expansion of advisor sales though the broker dealer, Equity Services, Inc (ESI). 
  • Review and supervise business activities related to the broker dealer, Equity Services and act as a Registered Principal for General Agencies within your respective region. 
  • Support agents, advisors and agency marketers in product selection, case design, and illustration fulfillment. 
  • Conduct training, both in person and virtual, on products, processes, business development and services offered by National Life Group as well as Equity Services. 
  • Onboard new relationships with National Life Group to quickly grow and develop business.  
  • Maintain an active understanding of the competitive landscape and current industry trends to create innovative solutions designed to meet customer needs. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • A strategic leader looking for an innovative environment where the impact of efforts can be immediately seen. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 10 or more years of experience with demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence others to grow sales. 
  • Successful completion and retention of Series 7; Series 63; Series 65 (or Series 66) and Series 24 registrations. 
  • Subject Matter Expert in Life, Annuity and Investment products, markets, operational procedures, and distribution systems. 
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, including the ability to get things done, breaking down barriers, and finding/executing solutions. 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with a proven ability to dynamically represent National Life Group in various communication channels, such as presentations at conferences, in committees, agency leadership meetings. 
  • Exceptional organization and self-management skills, including managing travel and business expenses. 
  • Strong advocate for and example of teamwork, performance excellence, and continuous improvement. 
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Active presence and participation within industry organizations such as LIMRA, and the American College of Financial Services. 
  • Ability to travel more than 50% of your time, growing and developing new and existing agency relationships.  

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Preferred industry designations include CLU®, ChFC®, and CFP®.
