App Data Analyst (6-month temporary)

INTRO TO POSITION
Focused on self-service tooling and back-end data infrastructure, this role will serve an important function in standardizing back-end systems for NPR app analytics.
This is a union represented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with NABET-CWA DMU.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will support product analytics needs for the NPR App and work closely with the Sr Analyst of product analytics. Work during the 6 month period will include writing/editing Firebase queries, maintaining dashboards, and streamlining back-end processes for the app.
- Add new features and maintain the integrity of app dashboards
- Write guides and documentation for app analytics
- Create measurement plans for developers to implement tracking needs
- Support diagnosing and resolving data issues
- Work to make SQL queries more efficient
- Streamline scheduled queries, data summaries, and other infrastructure
- Audit existing dashboards, reports, and queries for the app to standardize definitions and methods for pulling app metrics
- By the end of the 6 month period, establish a sustainable system of self-service for app analytics

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL and databases
- Demonstrated expertise in Google Firebase data and app analytics
- Experience in data tracking implementation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Nice to have: Experience in BigQuery
- Nice to have: Experience in Looker
WORK LOCATION
- Remote Permitted: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.

COMPENSATION
Hourly Rate: The U.S. based anticipated hourly rate for this opportunity is $37.47 - 43.88 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rate NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
