
Coordinator, Donor Services and Logistics

Intro to Position
NPR is seeking a Donor Services and Logistics Coordinator to join the Development division and provide essential donor support functions. The role will primarily be responsible for handling donor inquiries, the accurate and timely entry of gifts to NPR and the NPR Foundation in Salesforce, and provide on-site logistics support.
Position will ensure adherence to all processes and procedures utilizing the highest level of data standards to support philanthropic revenue tracking, and responding to inquiries regarding transactions from internal and external constituents. Role is data entry focused and will give the right candidate the experience of learning the inner workings of NPR’s fundraising and financial teams. Strong candidates will thrive in a detail oriented environment and must be able to learn quickly and work autonomously. Role reports directly to the Director of Donor Services.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary point of contact for public donor inquiries via email and voicemail, providing timely and accurate information on gift policies/procedures while triaging complex requests to Senior Associates or the Director of Donor Services to ensure high-level resolution.
- Responsible for all aspects of database gift entry in Salesforce and must be able to independently handle processing of lockbox, credit card, wire, stock, pledge and gift agreements and all other types of transactions.
- Process gifts in a timely manner and ensure all gift codes are accurately applied.
- Able to proactively problem solve to make adjustments or corrections in consultation with the Finance and Donor Services teams.
- Maintain ongoing gift data hygiene, ad-hoc clean-up projects and other necessary tasks to ensure integrity of the database.
- Work with frontline fundraisers and research teams to ensure proper entry of all relevant information for processing gifts and assist with gift data management.
On-Site Duties
- Manage the secure intake of physical gifts delivered to NPR HQ; responsible for cataloging information into shared tracking documents before securely mailing checks to the lockbox for processing.
- Oversee the digital scanning and distribution of incoming donor correspondence and letters to the appropriate internal stakeholders; manage the outbound mailing of supplies, donor stewardship materials, and letters to colleagues and external constituents.
- Systematically catalog and process returned mail, proactively researching and updating donor addresses and contact information in the Salesforce database to maintain high data standards and integrity.
- Provide hands-on administrative and operational assistance during Development division fundraising events, NPR Foundation board meetings, and donor tours upon request.

Required Skills/Competencies
- Experience working with confidential data in a nonprofit or comparable organization.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience engaging with a wide range of customers through a service-minded commitment to resolving inquiries effectively and thoughtfully.
- Strong PC skills, proficiency in Excel, Adobe, Docusign and Google Workspace.
- Proficiency with relational databases, preferably Salesforce.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to enter data with a high level of accuracy in accordance with organizational policy.
- Motivated, dependable, and capable of working autonomously; demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently across a hybrid schedule, seamlessly balancing independent remote data tasks with time-sensitive, on-site operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to quickly learn, adapt to new information, and pivot smoothly when internal workflows, database procedures, or logistics change.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify challenges and proactively seek out potential answers or workflows; comfort with investigating complex inquiries and proposing viable options to the Director for final resolution.
- Cultivate and support an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.
- Enthusiasm for public media, its mission and its programs.
- Ability to lift and manage event supplies and mail bins as needed.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance repetitive administrative tasks with high-visibility, forward-facing logistics.
Work Location & Requirements
- NPR Hybrid Permitted: This is a hybrid permitted role. Some aspects of this role require duties better performed at an NPR facility. The employee will be required to be in the office at the Washington, D.C. location at least 2 days] a week. The employee must also reside in an NPR-supported location based on the number of on-site days they choose.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: The U.S.-based anticipated hourly rate for this opportunity is $28.37-$30.29 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rate NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
NPR Benefits: NPR provides comprehensive benefits for employees and dependents.
