Human Resources Manager

About The Role

As HR Manager, you will serve as the Human Resource Manager for our brand new production facility (also referred to as a bakery) and will help create, direct, and execute on people plans to help grow our bakery in terms of both production volume and headcount. The HR Manager will be a true generalist, supporting diverse organizational needs helping build a culture as we open our new manufacturing facility.

This role reports to the HR Director and will eventually Manage an HR Business Partner and HR Generalist.

  • Thrived in a high-volume, fast-moving manufacturing or retail environment where you have successfully been able to manage simultaneous multiple mission critical priorities;
  • Effectively manage employee relations issues and drive workforce planning to support the site needs
  • Earned the trust of and partnered effectively with organizational leaders to drive change or transformation to improve workplace culture and engagement, and business performance;
  • Developed or influenced the development of key people programs in areas related to performance management, employee relations, coaching and feedback, leave management, organizational design, change management, among other things;
  • Either informally or formally led a team toward achieving results for their business units through coaching and accountability; and
  • Developed and/or revised HR policies, such as attendance, performance improvement plans, vacation, sick, PTO, or leave.

The Ideal Candidate

In addition, our ideal candidate loves being a subject matter expert in Human Resources as much as they love being in the business. The candidate believes that to effectively advise the business, an HR professional must know the business. The HR Manager candidate is an effective influencer, who leverages facts, data, and analysis to influence and achieve the best results for the organization.

The Minimum And/Or Technical Requirements

  • At least 7 years of general HR experience and experience leading people in a formal or informal capacity
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); a master’s in Human Resources, Business, or Management is a plus
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification preferred;
  • Generalist experience in HR disciplines such as wage and hour, disability and leave management, recruiting, talent planning, and performance management.
  • Experience leading the execution of people strategies for a site, facility, or business unit
  • Project management skills
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual with Spanish highly preferential
