Job Overview:
The Warehouse Lead plays a hands-on role in managing day-to-day warehousing operations at Nature’s Bakery’s new Manufacturing Facility. This role focuses on supporting inventory management, improving processes, and ensuring smooth material flow in a fast-paced environment. The Warehouse Lead serves as a role model for dependability, adaptability, and adherence to company policies, contributing to a safe and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee daily warehouse activities and ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to manage inventory flow.
- Serve as the first point of contact for warehouse associates, providing guidance and resolving issues as needed.
Process Improvement:
- Assist in developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations.
- Train team members on best practices, emphasizing safety and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to management.
Inventory Management:
- Conduct routine inventory checks, including adjustments and troubleshooting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Quality, Food Safety, and Logistics teams to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Lead weekly cycle counts and support annual physical inventory processes.
KPI Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide feedback and recommendations based on data to improve team performance.
Team Leadership:
- Support warehouse associates by assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a change agent by encouraging innovative ideas and solutions.
What You Bring:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP, and basic Excel skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in inventory management and working with 3PL partners.
- Familiarity with lean methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead a team in a warehouse or logistics environment.
