Manufacturing Engineer
Job Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting equipment installation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity while ensuring the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Start-Up & Ramp up efficiency lines & Equipment Technical Support:
- Assist in the commissioning, installation, and validation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Support the development and implementation of scalable manufacturing processes.
- Work with vendors and contractors to ensure project execution aligns with operational needs.
- Maintain equipment documentation, including schematics and operational guidelines.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and optimize workflows.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for production issues.
Collaboration & Technical Support:
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve manufacturing performance.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for production challenges and equipment reliability.
- Assist with training production teams on new processes and equipment operation.
Work on design alignment with Autocad and Solidworks tool support to renew lines installation or expansion.
PID creation, development, and review for process areas
2D layout creation, development and review for packaging areas
Project Management & Capital Support:
- Contribute to developing user requirements, project scopes, and budgets for engineering initiatives.
- Assist in preparing Capital Appropriation Requests aligned with annual CAPEX plans.
- Help track project progress and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Help creating SAP POs for CAPEX & OPEX.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor manufacturing performance metrics and use data-driven insights to recommend improvements.
- Prepare reports and documentation on process enhancements and project progress.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing or engineering roles, preferably in food, pharma, or CPG industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to process improvement.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
Proficiency in MS Project
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-speed process & packaging production line equipment.
- Familiarity with sanitary systems (CIP), temperature control, and HVAC systems.
- Exposure to PLCs, servo motors, HMIs, and related automation technologies.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems for project and inventory management.
Physical Demands
- Regularly work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and climb stairs as needed.
