Sanitation Technician
Pay: Starting at $18 + $500 initial employment bonuses
Shift: 6am - 6pm
SUMMARY
The Sanitation Technician sanitizes all equipment in the plant in compliance with customer specifications and with company policy and procedures related to proper sanitation, GMP and Safety requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Clean and sanitize work areas, production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and other designated spaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
- Collect and dispose of waste materials, ensuring proper sorting of recyclables and hazardous materials.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness around waste disposal areas and manage proper waste containment.
- Monitor and maintain sanitation supplies, ensuring there is an adequate stock of cleaning agents and materials.
- Report low inventory levels to the supervisor and request replacements.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure all sanitation activities comply with local, state, and federal health regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when cleaning or handling hazardous materials.
- Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify areas requiring attention and report findings to management.
- Document daily sanitation activities and report any issues or non-compliance.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and supervisors to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist in special cleaning projects or deep cleaning initiatives as directed.
- All sanitation employees are expected to produce and promote our products and services in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- General understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
- Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Basic understanding of sanitation processes and related equipment.
- Ability to run sanitation equipment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and communicate safety labels on chemical containers.
- Ability to work overtime as needed with little or no notice.
- Basic computer skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
- One year of sanitation experience or more
SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a manufacturing setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. The employee is exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, gloves, boots, aprons and/or safety glasses/goggles may be required.
- Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, shoulder-to-overhead and pushing/pulling/carrying.
- Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend/twist neck and back; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
- Ability to tolerate humid, wet working environment with temperatures up to 70 degrees F.
- Ability to be in contact with sanitation/cleaning chemicals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully preform the essential function of this job. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the plant and offices including walking, climbing stairs. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods within a maximum of 75lbs. on an intermittent basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located near machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full Time Non-Exempt position 40 hour per week, and it may require working additional hours depending on business need requirements.
