QA Systems and Compliance Manager
What You’ll Do
As the QA Systems and Compliance Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Management Program across multiple sites. You will serve as the primary authority on Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, ensuring alignment with MARS standards and regulatory requirements. Your role will require strategic interaction with auditors, inspectors, and senior leadership, driving a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Oversee QMS Compliance:
Direct the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Quality Management System, ensuring robust compliance with MARS standards, GFSI, and all applicable regulatory requirements. - Audit & Inspection Management:
Serve as the principal contact for external and internal audits, inspections, and certification processes. Develop audit readiness strategies and ensure successful outcomes. - Strategic Data Analysis & Reporting:
Oversee the collection, trending, and analysis of key KPIs related to quality and compliance. Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership. - Systems Integration & Optimization:
Lead cross-functional teams in the integration and optimization of QMS/ERP systems, leveraging technology to streamline compliance processes and enhance operational efficiency. - Policy Development & Continuous Improvement:
Develop, update, and enforce quality and compliance policies. Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all sites. - Multi-Site Support & Leadership:
Provide expert guidance and support to other sites, driving consistency and excellence in quality management practices. - Risk Management & Issue Escalation:
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to food safety and quality. Escalate critical issues and lead resolution efforts. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Quality, R&D, Maintenance, Operations, Human Resources, and Leadership teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of QMS initiatives. - Team Leadership & Development:
Mentor and develop quality and compliance staff, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth. - Travel:
Travel up to 25% as required to support multi-site operations and initiatives.

Qualifications
- Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or related industry, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. - Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree preferred. - Technical Proficiency:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, QMS, ERP systems, and compliance management technologies. - Certifications:
GFSI certifications; PCQI certification; Auditor Certification required. Additional certifications (SQF, BRC, ISO, etc.) preferred. - Regulatory Expertise:
Deep knowledge of HACCP, FDA, FSMA, GMP, GFSI, and other relevant standards and regulatory agencies. - Leadership Qualities:
Personable, professional, and highly productive within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and independently. - Continuous Learner:
Strong desire for ongoing learning, professional development, and embracing new challenges.
