Position Overview:
Navier is seeking an experienced and resourceful Supply Chain Specialist to join our team at our Alameda, CA headquarters. This role is critical in ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and cost-effectively while supporting production timelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in supply chain optimization for production environments, international supply chains, and contract negotiation. Expertise in international logistics, overseas manufacturing are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate vendors to secure the best prices for components while maintaining quality standards.
- Seek alternative suppliers to achieve cost savings and reduce risks in the supply chain.
- Negotiate supply agreements to secure favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality assurance.
- International Logistics and Freight Management:
- Coordinate international shipments via sea and air freight to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Manage customs clearance processes and minimize tariffs through compliance and strategic planning.
- Work with freight forwarders to optimize shipping routes, transit times, and logistics costs.
- Resolve shipping delays and ensure proper documentation for international shipments.
- Cost Optimization:
- Monitor and minimize shipping, customs, and tariff costs through strategic planning and vendor collaboration.
- Analyze and implement cost-saving strategies in procurement and logistics.
- Inventory and Production Support:
- Ensure just-in-time inventory processes to support production without overstocking or causing delays.
- Proactively address supply chain disruptions to avoid production delays.
- Travel Requirements:
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet with suppliers, assess facilities, and support sourcing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role within a production environment
- Strong expertise in international logistics
- Proven track record in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
- Experience with MRP or similar systems for tracking inventory and purchasing
- Knowledge of customs regulations and tariff management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve supply chain challenges.
