Sr. QA Tester
Irvine, California
[Responsibilities]
- Strong familiarity with PC MMO products
- Using established methods, test games for ease of use, reliability, consistency, and absence of defects
- Create and execute functionality test plans and checklists as assigned up to and including;
- Game systems (Combat/Questing/Store/tools etc.)
- Platform systems (Account/Login/Fraud/Tools
- Web systems (Marketing Sites/Newsletters/Web Shops etc.)
- Log and regress all defects found during testing into the appropriate defect tracking software
- Provide clear and detailed written reports of bugs and repro steps to the development team
- Bring serious defects to the attention of QA Leadership and/or PD
- Work on multiple, complex tasks at the same time and be accountable for completion
- Review documentation, provide feedback and edits where appropriate
- Mentor Testers
- Investigate defects fully when given little data
- Help the Manager/Lead monitor Outsource resources and identify gaps
- Main point of contact for all QA issues relating to assigned project(s)
[Qualifications]
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5+ years of experience with software QA testing, preferably PC MMO QA testing
- Note a mix of ISTQB and other Certifications coupled with relevant experience may be substituted/considered
- Mobile experience is also a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with others from cross functional teams
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with little direction or supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multi-task and work successfully under tight deadlines
- Computer proficiency, especially in relation to video games
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Interested in and comfortable with MMO gaming
- Working knowledge of Jira or comparable defect management software
Irvine, CA pay range
$60,000 - $70,000 USD
