As a Product Design intern, you'll work onsite in either Wilmington, NC or Lehi, UT and collaborate with experienced designers to create intuitive and impactful user experiences for our FinTech products. This 12-week, in-person program offers the opportunity to contribute to real projects that enhance platform usability for financial institutions globally. You'll be involved in research, ideation, interface design, prototyping, testing, and working with developers to implement solutions that align with both user needs and business goals.

Job Description
Objectives:
- Learn and participate in the full product design process with guidance from experienced mentor
- Define, research, ideate, design, prototype, and test solutions as part of a cross-functional team
- Contribute to design solutions that enhance user experiences for financial institutions
- Be an integral member of both the design team and cross-functional product teams
- Participate in implementing design solutions that align with user needs and business goals
- Use AI-powered tools for rapid concept generation, user research analysis, and prototype development
- Explore emerging AI tools for design automation, user research synthesis, and cross-team collaboration
What you'll gain:

- Understanding of user research, accessibility principles, and design system implementation

- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations for streamlined design-to development hand offs.
- Portfolio development showcasing both traditional design skills and modern AI workflow competency
Technical Requirements:
- Design Tools: Familiarity with modern design tools such as Figma and Claude Design
- Portfolio: Examples of your work showcasing design thinking, process, and visual skills (academic projects, personal work, or internship projects acceptable)
- Design Fundamentals: Understanding of user interface design principles, typography, color theory, and layout through coursework or personal projects
- Prototyping: Basic knowledge of prototyping concepts and tools for creating interactive designs
- User Research: Academic exposure to user research methods, usability testing, or user-centered design principles is a plus
- Design Systems: Awareness of design system concepts and component-based design preferred but not required
Additional Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or enrolled in a bootcamp certificate program in UX/UI Design, Product Design, or related area, or has demonstrable design skills shown in a portfolio.
- This position requires current work authorization in the United States that will not require employer sponsorship now or in the future. We are unable to sponsor or transfer visas for this internship position.
- Willingness to work onsite at our Wilmington, NC or Lehi, Utah office
- Full time availability, from May 2027 to August 2027
- Strong communication skills with ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to feedback in a collaborative design environment
- Creative problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and user empathy

The pay range for this role is based on relative market data and alignment with our compensation philosophy. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum of the pay range for each job posting, which is used to determine new hire rates/salaries and takes into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, abilities, proficiencies, experience, education, licensures/certifications, as well as business and organizational needs. nCino reserves the right to modify the posted range consistent with our internal practices and external market movement. The recruiter for this job posting can share more compensation details during the recruitment process, as base salary is only one component of the total compensation package per position posted.
The base salary range for this job is:
$22.50 - $27 USD
