The Role

The EST1 is a hands-on field leader. You’ll lead installation crews on commercial projects, from K-12 campuses and hospitals to government buildings and manufacturing plants. You’ll report to the Installation Manager and work closely with each project’s Project Manager. You’ll also be the main technical point of contact on site, so you’ll keep crews productive, keep work to spec, and keep customers informed.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, direct, and prioritize the work of field installers on active jobsites
  • Review project plans, scopes, and drawings, and confirm materials, tools, and equipment before you mobilize
  • Terminate, install, program, test, and troubleshoot access control, video, intrusion, A/V, paging, and cabling systems
  • Commission IP-based devices and work alongside customer IT teams on network configuration
  • Keep as-built and record drawings accurate and up to date
  • Send daily progress updates to the Project Manager and flag risks early
  • Communicate professionally with customers in sensitive settings such as occupied schools, patient-care areas, and secure government facilities
  • Lead jobsite safety checks and keep crews OSHA compliant
  • Operate aerial lifts and powder-actuated tools
  • Keep jobsites, vehicles, and equipment clean, organized, and secure
  • Supporting other team members and contributing to a team-first work environment

 

What You Bring

  • Experience in electronic systems installation, field service, or a related low-voltage trade
  • Experience leading or mentoring installation crews
  • Independent proficiency in at least three of the systems NC Sound installs (listed below)
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as LenelS2, Milestone, Verkada, and Axis
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure and IP-based systems (IP addressing, PoE, switches, VLAN basics)
  • OSHA 30, CPR, Aerial Lift, and Powder-Actuated Fastener certifications, or the ability to obtain them
  • Valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or a low-voltage program is a plus

  • Installations meet or exceed NCS quality standards with minimal rework or service calls
  • Systems are properly installed, programmed, tested, and functioning as intended
  • Materials and resources are effectively managed to prevent project delays
  • Installers receive clear direction, support, and technical guidance
  • Project Managers and the Installation Manager receive timely and accurate project updates
  • Customers receive professional service and responsive communication
  • Jobsites, vehicles, tools, and materials remain clean, organized, and secure
  • You demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently
  • You actively support teammates and contribute to a positive, collaborative field environment
