Senior Performance Test Engineer (Remote, Brazil)

Contract

This is a contract full-time remote position for those based in Brazil. The initial contract runs through the end of 2025, with the possibility of extension.

The Role

As a Senior Performance Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will work closely as part of the development team throughout the software lifecycle, embedding testing into every step of the process. However, as you’ll likely work on a variety of projects, your responsibilities may also include:

  • Collaborating with others in the development team to integrate testing and a quality assurance mindset into the software development lifecycle.
  • Define and implement structured testing practices, including automated and manual testing strategies.
  • Designing and implementing performance test plans.
  • Executing load, stress, and scalability tests.
  • Ensure test processes are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
  • Optimise testing for scalability, speed, and efficiency.
  • Working with and supporting Technical Leaders in project execution and timely delivery.
  • Collaborating with client teams.

What we are looking for in this person:

  • Professional proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Significant experience delivering at a Senior Test Engineer level. Our Seniors typically have at least 6 years’ commercial experience.
  • Practical experience of delivering in an agile environment.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of developing automation testing frameworks for scalable software solutions, specifically performance, load and stress testing
  • Deep knowledge of performance testing frameworks such as K6, JMeter, Gatling, Loadrunner etc
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript or Python
  • Deep understanding of versioning control tools - e.g. Git.
  • Practical and real-world experience working with databases and cloud environments.
  • Practical experience creating test strategies for large-scale enterprise applications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Interview Process

1. Talent Call (30 mins, Zoom) An introductory conversation with a member of our Talent Team to learn more about your background, experience, and career goals. We'll also provide a high-level overview of Nearform and answer any questions you may have. This step helps us assess initial alignment.

2. Technical Assessment (1 hour, Zoom) A live coding challenge with one of our trained interviewers. You'll be asked to build a working solution to a problem via screen sharing, demonstrating your [selected coding language] expertise, problem-solving ability, and coding best practices in a real-time environment.

3. Hiring Manager Interview (45 mins, Zoom) A conversation with a Hiring Manager focused on your approach to teamwork, client collaboration, and problem-solving in an enterprise development setting. We'll also share more details about Nearform and the potential projects you may join.

There may also be an additional interview with the client depending on the project.
