QA Specialist (1099 Contract)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Specialist, QA Manual Tester, QA Engineer, or SDET to join our team in a contract role. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and usability of our WordPress-based website and associated systems. You will focus on both front-end and back-end testing, with a strong emphasis on delivering a seamless experience across desktop and mobile platforms. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other departments to address customer-facing service desk tasks and support overall site functionality and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure items under test meet all business requirements and user expectations while providing test evidence on related JIRA tickets.
  • Conduct thorough front-end testing for desktop and mobile platforms, ensuring compatibility and responsiveness using tools such as BrowserStack, browser DevTools and Pagespeed Insights.
  • Perform back-end quality assurance testing, including validating data integrity with SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to audit dataLayer structure, ensuring it adheres to analytics requirements and captures relevant user interactions.
  • Validate adherence to schema standards, Core Web Vitals (CWV), and expected SEO metadata in the page.
  • Assist in resolving customer-facing issues as part of service desk tasks.
  • Explore opportunities for test automation to enhance QA efficiency using tools like Selenium (as applicable).
  • Maintaining acceptance and closure of JIRA task assigned within the cycle of an agile sprint cadence. 

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in front-end testing for both desktop and mobile environments.
  • Familiarity with WordPress architecture, themes, and plugins.
  • Knowledge of back-end systems, including the ability to perform API through Postman and SQL queries from mySQL and postgreSQL.
  • Proficient in understanding and manipulating the HTML Document Object Model (DOM) to test, debug, and validate website functionality.
  • Experience working with the dataLayer object and implementing data tracking solutions to support google analytics GA4.
  • Strong understanding of schema standards, Core Web Vitals, and SEO optimization.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Experience handling customer-facing tasks or service desk responsibilities.
  • Basic familiarity with QA automation tools and practices (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks related to JIRA tickets and adapt to changing project needs.

Pay: $28.87/hour
Hours: 40 hours/week
