Technician 3
Aerospace is at a turning point — costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can’t keep up. At Neon Aero, we’re breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start-up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI-driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production.
Here, you won’t just take a job — you’ll help reinvent how the world flies. If you’re ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact.
Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to help shape the future of aviation? As a Manufacturing Technician, you’ll play a vital role in producing advanced propeller components that keep aircraft flying safely and efficiently. From layup to final assembly, your work directly supports flight-critical hardware that meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.
This role offers both specialization and variety—depending on your skills and interests, you may focus on specific areas or rotate across multiple shop-floor processes. Cross-training is encouraged, and your growth is supported every step of the way.
This is an on-site position and will require successful completion of a background check and a drug test.
What You’ll Do
Depending on production needs and your training progression, you’ll contribute to one or more of the following areas:
-
Layup: Prepare molds, cut and place composite materials, debulk, and vacuum bag assemblies.
-
Molding: Operate presses, autoclaves, and vacuum systems to mold and cure composite parts.
-
Bonding: Prepare surfaces, mix/apply adhesives, assemble and cure bonded assemblies.
-
Deflashing: Remove flash, gates, and excess material to achieve precise final dimensions.
-
Assembly: Build and balance propeller blades, hubs, and related hardware per specifications.
-
Inspection & Documentation: Conduct in-process inspections, maintain traceability, and record process data.
-
Support: Assist with shipping/receiving, inventory counts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or composites certification preferred.
-
0–5+ years of experience in composites manufacturing (aviation/aerospace a plus).
-
Ability to read ply books, engineering drawings, and process specifications.
-
Hands-on skills with composite materials, vacuum bagging, and cure cycle monitoring.
-
Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with precision tools (torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers).
-
Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards, FOD prevention, and cleanroom practices.
-
Ability to lift 40–50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work overtime or flexible shifts as needed.
-
Strong teamwork, communication, and meticulous attention to detail.
