People Operations Specialist

Neon is an open-source company on a mission to create a cloud-native Postgres database as a service for every developer. 

As a People Operations Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our remote, distributed team, helping to streamline our people operations for scalability and enabling our team’s success. You will bring your passion for creating a great employee experience and high attention to detail to enhance our people processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new hire onboarding, ensuring each team member receives the support they need, as well as handling some of the offboarding processes for departing employees.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our HRIS (HiBob), manage employee documentation such as contracts and amendments, and handle information changes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, handling questions regarding policies, benefits, and other HR matters.
  • Assist in administering employee benefits, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Assist in documenting and implementing processes and guidelines across the team member lifecycle, providing recommendations to improve efficiency and the overall employee experience.
  • Coordinate and support employee engagement events, in-person team gatherings, and company offsite trips to foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Coordinate remote equipment logistics (e.g., laptops, monitors) and manage company swag, ensuring team members have the resources and materials they need to work effectively.

We are looking for someone who has

  • 3+ years of experience in HR or People Operations, ideally in a fast-paced or scaling company.
  • Experience with HRIS (e.g., HiBob, BambooHR, Personio), and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you’re able to build trust and establish strong relationships at all levels.
  • Knowledge of employment law and compliance best practices.
  • Ability to focus on details and prioritise effectively in a remote environment.
  • Ability to use discretion and handle highly sensitive information
  • Passion for People, about creating a positive employee experience and contributing to a mission-driven culture.
  • Experience in event coordination or administrative support.
