Engineering Manager, Product Performance
Neptune Medical is an innovative, venture capital funded medical device startup headquartered in Burlingame, CA. We have already commercialized novel medical devices using our technology. Now the team Triton Robotics at Neptune is building something truly unique: a fully flexible medical robot that enables doctors to reach deep into human anatomy. Triton Robotic Endoscopy will disrupt flexible endoscopy and set a new standard in outcomes for decades to come.
TITLE: Engineering Manager, Product Performance
POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated manager to lead a team of talented engineers in the development and verification of our next generation endoluminal robotic system. This leadership role is ideal for a systems thinker with deep experience in requirements development, risk management, and verification/validation in a regulated medical device environment, all while working in a highly collaborate cross-functional environment.
The ideal candidate will act with passion and intensity in a medical device start-up that is fast-paced and collaborative and will display the ability to perform to the requirements outlined below. ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Effectively lead and manage a team of engineers to achieve program goals.
- Work closely with colleagues to brainstorm, collaborate, and share knowledge, demonstrating a team forward mentality with honest work ethic.
- Mentor and grow the team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and quality.
- Product Development:
- Lead the product performance team in the full lifecycle of product development
- Spearhead the design controls process for endoscope programs
- Advance tools for requirements, risk management, test development and execution solutions to support the program needs
- Develop and maintain the right size test infrastructure to support the design and development needs of the team
- Lead risk analysis, test method design and protocol development through formal verification to ensure functionality, safe and efficacious design in a design controlled and regulated environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering with 7+ years in medical device product development, with at least 2 years in management or technical leadership
- Proven experience leading and managing teams with a team first mentality.
- Demonstrated experience with
- Requirements development and management
- Risk management in a regulated environment
- Test development and execution for complex electromechanical systems
- Test infrastructure creation
- Strong understanding of the design controls process and regulatory requirements for medical devices (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Triton Robotics is located in Burlingame, CA, near the Millbrae Caltrain and BART station.
The starting base salary for this role is between $180,000 and $230,000 depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits, and 401(K) with matching.
