The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will design and implement cutting-edge data solutions that drive real business impact.  This role will bridge the gap between technical and business worlds, transforming complex data into actionable strategies. Working closely with Google and leveraging GCP tools like Looker and BigQuery, you'll develop dashboards, LookML models, and data-driven insights that address client challenges. This role is critical in showcasing the value of our offerings, driving new business opportunities, and shaping data strategies in a fast-paced, consultative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.  
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence, with at least 3+ years utilizing Looker and GCP.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients in various industry verticals, understanding their unique data challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent comprehension of Looker and its implementation, with additional analytics platform experience a major plus.
  • Experience with Google Cloud and its data services is preferred, however experience with other major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their data services will be considered.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and experience working with python-enabled capabilities in analytics platforms. 
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques. Experience working with dbt or dataform is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL (CloudSQL Preferred) and deep experience with data visualization tools.
  • Experience with GCP data services like BigQuery, Looker, etc..
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a consultative approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with GCP security tools and best practices.
  • Google Cloud certifications and any analytics platform certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and develop visually compelling and interactive dashboards that showcase the value and potential of our solutions to clients.  
  • Create dashboards that tell a story with data, highlighting key insights and driving impactful decision-making.
  • Prioritize design and aesthetics in dashboard creation, ensuring they are not only informative but also engaging and impressive to clients.
  • Work with Clients to enable them on the Looker Platform, teaching them how to construct an analytics ecosystem in Looker from the ground up.
  • Develop and maintain LookML models to create a semantic layer for business users, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data analytics solutions to ensure efficient processing and query performance.
  • Advise clients on how to develop their analytics centers of excellence, defining and designing processes to promote a scalable, governed analytics ecosystem.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis using SQL within BigQuery and other tools to answer client questions and support POC development.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Solutions Architects to ensure data quality, availability, and alignment with client needs.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code (LookML, Python as applicable)
  • Stay current on the latest data visualization and analytics trends and technologies, particularly within the GCP ecosystem.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.

  • Client interaction: Comfortable interacting with clients, including light client management, conducting technical demos, and collaborating closely with technical stakeholders from the client.
  • Risk assessment and communication: Proven ability to clearly communicate the risks, complexity, and timeline impacts of newly added product features or scope.
