RF Test Technician

Torrance, California, United States

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

Neros is seeking an RF Test Technician to support the hands-on setup, execution, and maintenance of RF test systems used in engineering qualification, production acceptance, and flight testing. This role is ideal for someone who is strong with soldering, harnessing, lab work, and careful test execution, and who wants to grow familiarity with RF measurement equipment in a fast-moving hardware environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, modify, and maintain RF test setups, coax assemblies, RF switch harnesses, cables, fixtures, and supporting lab hardware
  • Support qualification and acceptance test plan execution by preparing equipment, following procedures, collecting results, and escalating issues
  • Perform soldering, rework, connector installation, harness assembly, labeling, and other hands-on lab tasks
  • Help prepare RF hardware and test equipment for flight tests and support setup, troubleshooting, and teardown in the field
  • Operate or learn to operate basic RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, power meters, attenuators, RF switches, and test radios
  • Keep lab and production test areas organized, repeatable, and ready for fast execution

You should have the following

  • 1+ year of hands-on technician, electronics lab, production test, RF lab, avionics, robotics, drone, automotive, or related hardware experience
  • Strong soldering skills, including wire, connector, and small electronics rework
  • Experience building cables, harnesses, coax assemblies, or electromechanical test fixtures
  • Comfortable following test procedures, recording results, labeling hardware, and keeping work organized and repeatable
  • Basic familiarity with electronics lab tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, crimpers, heat shrink, and hand tools
  • Familiarity with RF measurement equipment is preferred; ability and willingness to quickly learn spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, RF switches, and power meters is required
  • Willingness to support flight tests, production test setups, and hands-on lab work as needed
  • High attention to detail and strong ownership of build quality, cable routing, connector integrity, and test setup reliability

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in an RF lab, antenna lab, wireless test environment, drone company, aerospace company, or production test environment
  • Experience with SMA / MMCX / U.FL / N-type connectors, coax routing, RF shielding, attenuators, and RF switch matrices
  • Experience supporting field tests, flight tests, or outdoor hardware test operations
  • IPC soldering certification, J-STD-001 experience, or similar electronics workmanship training
  • Basic Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or test automation exposure

US Salary Range

$92,500-129,500 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
