Flight Test Operations Specialist

Torrance, California, United States

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

Neros is hiring a Flight Test Operations Specialist. This role works within Engineering Flight Test and handles the hands-on logistics that keep test campaigns running: travel, fleet vehicles, field gear and equipment readiness. This person also goes to the field and assists with test execution of experimental FPV platforms to understand the workflow they are supporting firsthand. Success means test teams arrive on site with everything they need and spend their time flying instead of solving logistics problems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and book travel for test campaigns, including lodging, rental vehicles, and equipment shipping, and manage relationships with rental agencies, lodging providers, and suppliers
  • Support flight test days in the field as part of the test crew, including site setup and teardown, battery management, aircraft prep, and data logging
  • Maintain field vehicles, equipment, and inventory, including tracking maintenance and ordering supplies
  • Coordinate with the regulatory team to ensure flight test activities comply with FAA authorizations, airspace requirements, and site permissions
  • Coordinate crew, vehicle, and range availability for weekly test schedules and keep schedules current as plans change
  • Build checklists, load-out lists, and documentation that make test logistics repeatable and faster over time

You should have the following

  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, operations, or field support in UAS, aviation, military, film production, or similarly complex field environments
  • Demonstrated experience planning travel and logistics for teams, including lodging, vehicles, and equipment
  • Working knowledge of FPV drones or SUAS operation.
  • Experience working hands-on in field environments, including long days outdoors in varying weather
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight at test sites regularly during the week
  • Strong organization and attention to detail across multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Valid driver's license and comfort driving full-size Sprinter vans and trucks

Nice to have

  • FPV piloting experience
  • Military experience, especially aviation or operations
  • Experience in people management
  • Part 107 certificate

US Salary Range

$101,000 - $141,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.

We’re an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all applicants without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
