Quality Inspector (Electronics)

Torrance, California, United States

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

Our mission is to build a million drones a year here in America, and electronics are at the core of every one. As a Quality Inspector, you’ll be the first check on every PCBA, harness, and cable assembly that comes through incoming inspection (IQC), and you’ll support electronics inspection across the factory. You’ll catch workmanship and supplier defects before they reach the line, so that every unit survives and performs in contested environments.

This is a hands-on role for someone with a sharp eye and high standards. You inspect electronic hardware to drawings and IPC standards, document what you find, and make sure nothing questionable gets past you. When a defect shows up, you’re the one who catches it, quarantines it, and gets it in front of the right people.

If you’ve spent time inspecting electronics on a production floor and want to own quality at the first point of entry, this is your role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, first article, and in-process inspection of PCBAs, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and other electronic sub-assemblies across the factory to drawings, specifications, and IPC workmanship standards
  • Verify supplier data packages, including certificates of conformance, AOI and X-ray results, harness and cable test reports, part markings, and traceability
  • Independently execute inspection plans, sampling plans, and work instructions, and record results clearly, accurately, and completely in production systems
  • Identify and document nonconformances, contain suspect hardware, and verify all required actions from the MRB disposition are complete before releasing hardware back to production
  • Act as the eyes and ears on the floor, flagging recurring defects and systemic issues to engineering, production, and supply chain

You should have the following

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2+ years of hands-on electronics inspection experience in a manufacturing production environment
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620, applied to PCBAs, harnesses, and cable assemblies
  • Ability to read and work from assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Experience documenting nonconformances in an NCR, MES, or ERP system

Nice to have

  • Current IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification; J-STD-001 certification is a plus
  • Experience working within an ESD control program (ANSI/ESD S20.20)
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system, ideally in aerospace or defense manufacturing

US Salary Range

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
