What You will Do:

Founding Product Leadership

  • Serve as the founding product leader for NetDocuments' first Developer Experience (DevX) team, defining the product charter from day one.
  • Partner with the Principal Software Engineer to define the team's charter, roadmap, and success metrics.
  • Weigh in on team fit alongside the Principal Software Engineer and Engineering Manager as the team hires its first Staff and Senior Software Engineers.

Discovery & Stakeholder Management

  • Run discovery directly with geographically-disparate engineering teams to understand existing architecture, current tooling, and developer pain points.
  • Build trusted relationships and cadence with engineering stakeholders and leadership across time zones, without formal authority over them.
  • Translate discovery findings into a clear, prioritized roadmap for a brand-new team with no existing backlog to inherit.
  • Travel occasionally to the US (approximately 1–2 times per year) to deepen collaboration with US engineering leadership.

Prioritization & Roadmap

  • Define and prioritize the DevX roadmap based on developer pain points and data, not just feature requests.
  • Partner with the Principal Software Engineer to balance technical feasibility, architectural direction, and product priorities.
  • Own tradeoff decisions on scope and sequencing as the team's charter and roadmap evolve.

Driving Change & Measuring Impact

  • Define and track developer productivity signals (e.g., deploy frequency, cycle time, DORA metrics) to measure DevX's impact.
  • Baseline developer satisfaction and productivity from zero, and use those metrics to prioritize and report on progress.
  • Drive adoption of DevX tools and standards across engineering teams that don't report to them, building buy-in rather than mandating change.

Team Building

  • Help set the culture and working norms for a brand-new team.
  • Partner closely with the Principal Software Engineer as a day-to-day co-lead of the DevX team.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a product area or roadmap.
  • Enterprise SaaS product management experience; developer tools or platform product experience is a plus.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to engage credibly with engineers on architecture and tooling tradeoffs — no coding background required.
  • Experience building a roadmap and charter under ambiguity, without an existing backlog to inherit.
  • Experience driving adoption of a product or initiative across teams that don't report to you.
  • Experience defining and using productivity or adoption metrics (e.g., DORA metrics) to prioritize work and measure impact.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across geographies and time zones.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience building buy-in across technical stakeholders.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Prior experience founding or scaling a Developer Experience or Platform Engineering product function from scratch.
  • Experience partnering closely with a Principal or Staff engineer as a product/technical co-leadership pair.
  • Experience running discovery and building trust with distributed, cross-country engineering teams (e.g., US and India).
  • Experience in legal technology or other regulated enterprise software environments.
  • Experience hiring and building a product or engineering team from the ground up.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
