What You’ll Do 

NetDocuments is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Growth to join our AI Growth team and help build the systems that enable customers to understand, adopt, and realize value from AI across our platform. You’ll build and maintain backend services and data pipelines that power AI usage metering, reporting, billing integrations, and model availability. As part of a newly formed team, you’ll work closely with Product, AI, Business Intelligence, Finance, and Platform Engineering to solve complex technical and data challenges while helping establish the architecture and engineering practices that will support the team as it grows. 

You will: 

Design & Build 

  • Build and maintain production-grade backend services that support AI usage metering, reporting, billing integrations, and model availability.
  • Design and develop data pipelines and event-driven systems that reliably process usage and product data at scale.
  • Build cloud-native services using C#, AWS, and modern backend architecture patterns.
  • Develop integrations across AI, product, data, billing, and platform systems.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews to improve engineering quality across the team.  

System Design & Architecture 

  • Contribute to system design and architecture decisions across backend services, data pipelines, and integrations.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and help establish scalable patterns as the AI Growth platform evolves.
  • Design distributed systems using AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and S3.
  • Contribute to event-driven architectures and data infrastructure supporting AI usage and product analytics.
  • Help translate evolving product and business requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions.  

Reliability & Operational Excellence 

  • Own the reliability and operational health of the services you build.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues across backend services, integrations, and data pipelines.
  • Monitor system health and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build systems with production support, observability, and long-term maintainability in mind. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with AI Tools, Business Intelligence, Finance, Platform Engineering, and Product teams on integrations and shared initiatives.
  • Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into engineering solutions.
  • Surface technical trade-offs and help stakeholders understand the impact of architectural and implementation decisions.
  • Support engineers through code reviews, pairing, and sharing technical context as the team grows.  

Problem Solving & Ownership 

  • Take ownership of engineering work from initial requirements through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Break ambiguous or loosely defined problems into concrete, deliverable technical solutions.
  • Connect engineering decisions to customer adoption, product usage, and broader business outcomes.
  • Help establish technical practices and processes as the AI Growth team and its responsibilities mature.  

What You’ll Need to Be Successful 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade systems.
  • Strong experience building distributed backend services using C# or a comparable backend language.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure and modern cloud-native backend architecture patterns.
  • Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, event-driven systems, or analytics infrastructure.
  • Experience designing and operating reliable production services.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering, product, data, or other technical teams to deliver integrated solutions.  

What Will Make You Stand Out 

  • Experience building billing, metering, usage tracking, or rate-limiting systems.
  • Experience with product analytics, instrumentation, or usage-based data systems.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and S3.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Kafka, or similar data and event-streaming technologies.
  • Experience building systems that connect product usage data with commercial or billing workflows.

Compensation Transparency  

The compensation range for this position is:  $145,000 - $165,000 

The posted cash compensation for this position includes on target earnings. Some roles may qualify for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are determined based on various factors specific to each candidate, such as career level, skills, experience, geographic location, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.
