Cloud / Web Quality Assurance Engineer

We are growing our Cloud Web QA team at Nx. Our team ensures the quality of our Cloud Portal and Cloud services, allowing our customers to use our video surveillance system over the Internet from anywhere. Our team is small, collaborative, and friendly. The team is split between the US and Europe.

You are an experienced Manual QA Engineer who is a proactive, self-starter with the ability to spot problems with the code and articulate your thoughts and reasoning to members of the team. You love eliminating bottlenecks so the team can swiftly test new features & regression, write test cases, review test cases, review specifications, review e2e autotests, etc. You are driven to release new features efficiently without loss of quality and it shows in your work.

We are small and there are a lot of opportunities to grow your skills in testing, developing test cases, reviewing specifications, test cases & e2e autotests, as well as in working with developers, analytics, design, and other members of the team.

What you’ll be doing

  • A full cycle of manual testing new features: from reviewing documentation and planning to testing the last bug and confirming the readiness of the feature
  • Integration testing of Web/Cloud products with other company products (VMS Server & Desktop Client, Mobile Client)
  • Regression testing of Web / Cloud products of the company
  • Development of test cases to cover the functionality of Web / Cloud products
  • In the future, autotests will need to be checked for coverage of test cases developed by you and other engineers

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years experience in testing:
    • Experience in designing, writing and executing the test cases
    • Ability and tenacity to reproduce complicated issues
    • Ability to provide precise steps for reproducing bugs
  • Critical thinking - you most often notice the shortcomings and weaknesses of the products and solutions used, understand how they can be corrected or improved in terms of user experience
  • Desire and ability to independently understand the product/application areas and solve complex issues
  • Developed communication skills to communicate with colleagues from other departments for information, provide constructive feedback and defend your point of view
  • Knowledge and understanding of how the Web works - what is HTML and CSS, how HTTP and HTTPS differ, how regular sites and SPAs work

Will be a plus

  • The desire to learn and grow as a quality assurance engineer, supported by real actions (studying theory, passing specialized courses)
  • ISTQB - Foundation Level (certificate is a plus)
  • Experience in using developer tools in various browsers 
  • Knowledge of one of the virtualization applications (like VirtualBox, Vmware or Docker)
  • Experience with usability testing
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu OS or other Linux systems; understanding of working on the command line

The role is primarily designed as a hybrid, with an office location in Belgrade, Serbia. Ideally, the position includes some in-office time.
