Role Overview

The Manager, Affiliate Growth is responsible for leading business development and provider recruitment efforts to expand NeueHealth’s portfolio of value-based care contracts, including Medicare ACOs, ACA Marketplace, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage. This role will drive strategic growth by identifying and executing opportunities to recruit independent primary care practices into NeueHealth’s affiliate network across new and existing markets.

Reporting to the VP, Business Development, the Manager will lead the end-to-end affiliate growth strategy—from market assessment and pipeline development through provider engagement, deal structuring, and contract execution. The role will also oversee and develop a team of Associates, Affiliate Growth, providing mentorship, pipeline management, and operational guidance to ensure achievement of recruitment targets.

This position requires a highly motivated leader with strong healthcare business development experience, deep relationship-building capabilities with physicians and practice leadership, and a strong understanding of value-based care models.

 

This is a hybrid role with two days per week onsite at our corporate location in Doral. 

 

Role Responsibilities

The Manager, Affiliate Growth job description is intended to outline major responsibilities within the role but is not limited to these items.

Affiliate Growth Strategy & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute regional growth strategies to expand NeueHealth’s network of independent primary care providers participating in value-based contracts.

  • Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities across Medicare ACOs, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and ACA Marketplace products.

  • Conduct market analysis, provider landscape assessments, and competitive intelligence to prioritize geographic expansion opportunities.

  • Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective provider affiliates across targeted markets.

  • Partner with the VP, Business Development to define annual growth targets, recruitment priorities, and market entry strategies.

Provider Recruitment & Relationship Development

  • Lead consultative engagement with independent physician practices, presenting the clinical, operational, and financial benefits of affiliating with NeueHealth.

  • Own the full business development lifecycle including prospecting, relationship development, negotiation, and deal closure.

  • Conduct in-person meetings, site visits, and presentations with physician leaders and practice administrators.

  • Represent NeueHealth at industry conferences, local provider events, and networking opportunities to source new opportunities.

  • Clearly articulate NeueHealth’s value proposition and differentiators compared to other ACOs, MSOs, and IPAs in the market.

Deal Structuring & Execution

  • Lead development of provider partnership structures, including incentive alignment, participation models, and financial projections.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop business cases, financial forecasts, and strategic recommendations for prospective affiliates.

  • Support and guide Associates in preparing pitch decks, proposals, and RFP responses.

  • Manage negotiations and contract execution to achieve affiliate recruitment targets.

Team Leadership & Pipeline Management

  • Manage and develop two Associates, Affiliate Growth, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.

  • Establish clear pipeline management processes, KPIs, and reporting structures to track progress against growth goals.

  • Oversee prospecting, outreach strategies, and lead generation activities conducted by the team.

  • Review pipeline dashboards and ensure accurate forecasting of recruitment activity and deal timelines.

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture focused on achieving growth objectives.

Affiliate Portfolio & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with affiliate leadership teams to track performance metrics, identify expansion opportunities, and support affiliate success.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including contracting, finance, legal, operations, and clinical leadership throughout diligence, contracting, and onboarding phases.

  • Help standardize tools, templates, and processes used across affiliates for growth and business development activities.

  • Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership regarding pipeline performance, market dynamics, and growth opportunities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manage two Associates, Affiliate Growth

  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development

  • Oversee pipeline activity, outreach strategies, and deal execution

  • Conduct performance reviews and set development goals for team members

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare business development, provider relations, sales, or strategic partnerships

  • 1+ years of experience managing or mentoring team members (formal or informal leadership)

  • Demonstrated experience building and managing a sales or partnership pipeline

  • Ability and willingness to travel within assigned markets up to 60%

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM or pipeline tracking tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

Preferred

  • Experience with value-based care models including Medicare ACOs, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or ACA Marketplace

  • Familiarity with provider contracting, network development, or healthcare partnership structures

  • Experience developing financial models or evaluating provider economics

  • Existing relationships with physician practices or healthcare organizations in targeted markets
