Operations Manager - QLD

Brisbane, Australia

Neuron is the fastest growing micromobility operator in Asia Pacific and the leading shared e-scooter company across Australia and Canada. We partner with cities to connect people and places in a safe, convenient and fun way. We are driven to help the world build a more prosperous and sustainable future through new ways of moving and connecting.

Neuron has launched an impressive range of firsts, starting the world’s first scooter sharing platform in Singapore in 2016. We develop our own industry-leading e-scooters, which are purpose built for sharing and safety. We also set the industry standard for technology that manages them.

The Role

Reporting to our Head of Operations, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage operations of our Queensland cities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on urban transportation and be part of a forward-thinking team.

The Operations Manager will oversee the 360 degree operational function through the management of Neuron’s Ground Patrollers, Drivers and Workshop Technicians. The ideal candidate has built and led a team before and is highly motivated to make Neuron a resounding success.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies tailored to local fleet requirements, including deployment, rebalancing, maintenance, and availability optimization.
  • Oversee and support day-to-day office operations, ensuring effective coordination of rostering, record management, payroll processing support, inventory control, and compliance reporting.
  • Lead, supervise, and coach a team of drivers, warehouse staff, and office personnel, managing recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
  • Allocate and manage physical and human resources to meet strategic and operational goals, ensuring appropriate use of equipment, vehicles, and space.
  • Conduct regular assessments of workplace practices, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and government regulatory standards.
  • Handle operational escalations and service issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, Finance, and Logistics, and engage external suppliers and stakeholders to support operational continuity and service delivery.
  • Maintain a safe and productive working environment, with emphasis on compliance with WHS standards and risk minimization.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in operations management. Any experience in the shared mobility, transportation, or logistics industries is highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Analytical mindset, with experience using data-driven decision-making to drive operational efficiency and growth.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Do More With Less
